The Beatles - Baby You’re A Rich Man

My first video back after my vacation! Hoping to get a couple of videos before I take my annual August hiatus. This song was the flip side of “All You Need Is Love”. It was recorded specifically for the “Yellow Submarine” animated film, and was heard in the original theatrical version, but since 1999, only a portion of the song is heard. Why Apple refused to include the deleted scene as a bonus on the Blu Ray from 10 years ago is anyone’s guess.
I’ve always loved this track, from John’s falsetto vocals (which I forced myself to sing in a lower register since I had difficulty trying to nail it), the Clavoline keyboard, Paul’s swampy bass and Ringo’s driving beat (which my good friend, ‪@davidmontis7259‬ ​⁠ , recreated beautifully earlier this year). My take features none of that, just my guitar and voice. I’ve told ‪@sampopkin‬ ​⁠ for months I was going to tackle this song. Now I’ve done it! The timing seemed right.
Guitar is my 2022 Fender George Harrison Rocky Strat (how could I not?) fed into an Aclam Pedals Dr Robert preamp/overdrive (set clean, with the Mach Shau fuzz circuit disengaged) and run into my Vox AC15C1-PL.
A rest is what I needed, desperately! Gonna try to knock out a couple more covers before the month is out.
