I love how Josh was so nice about showing her to use the knife properly because I was having an absolute panic attack about fingers getting chopped off the entire time.

I love how Josh's whole ramble about Nicole's soft sloppy buns, and being receptive to guidance, was a whole tangent of thoughts to gently guide Courtney about better knife handling. Which means he was watching her the whole time nervously, and staying chill. That's the *_upside_* to an adhd mind :)

Courtney is pretty slim, but she’s around average or slightly above for a woman (she’s like 5 ft 9 or 10). But also, josh is absolutely ripped and is like 6ft 1 or something. I feel like they mentioned on some smash episode that Shayne is like 5 ft 8
@@CyberEJ Josh is about Link's height, so around 6' give or take an inch or two. So she's probably like 5'7 or 5'8 given she's a little more than half a foot shorter than him.

The guy the pulls stuff out of deep fryers with his bare hands is giving safety advice. Safety advice for proper knife technique but still.
As someone else who has learned the ways of the knife...it is also one of the things i notice whenever anyone but me chops things. It is like watching a kid play with the outlets
@@TheZombiecowmeat When you see it you wonder how that person has not badly cut themself. Or possibly, this person does not cook a lot.
The chef that taught me also told me if any knife falls off the table, LET IT DROP. I saw one prep cook go to the ER because he caught a dropped knife by the wrong end! And of course, no sharp knives in a full dish sink.
Some things you don't think of until it happens.
I pull stuff out of deep fryers with my bare hands and give safety advice regarding proper knife techniques to my coworkers, lolz. See, when they disregard safety standards, they end up in the emergency room waiting to have parts of their hands reattached (actually happened two days ago with one of the guy's thumb tip) whereas I don't even notice that my fingers have dipped into the oil sometimes.... after nearly 20 years working in a kitchen, I may be built different
@@allisonpozzo I still have burn scars on my forearms even though I haven't cooked as a job in a decades. My asbestos fingers are gone but they're still pretty heat resistant. But I was never nervy enough to grab stuff right out of the fryer basket. I knew a guy in high school that made french fries drunk and ended up in the burn unit. After that, I was always careful around 350F oil.
When people gripe about "flipping burgers" being a low skill minimum wage job. I point out how many ways you can injure yourself badly working in a kitchen.

Josh, if it makes you feel better, Koko's interpreter took a lot of liberties with interpreting her signs. Pretty much every other study besides the popular one points to the fact that Koko didn't actually know sign language and could not communicate with her handlers.
So glad to see someone else has pointed this out. So many people put too much stock in that situation.

OMIGAWD this video is from last year but I JUST noticed Courtney is cutting veggies left handed, and Josh showed her the 🦍✋ technique but right-handed, and Courtney switched to right handed 🦍✋ for a while, then gave up and just started slamming the knife down with JUST her left hand because she didn't know she can just 🦍✋ with the other hand 😂😂
