Metropolis the musical - "Hold Back the Night"

Amongst the workers who toil beneath the city is Maria who holds onto the memory of a world with a sun, flowers, birds and trees. She risks her life by giving clandestine lessons to the children so that the memory will never die and in the hope that someday freedom may again be possible. When Jade, George's girlfriend, dies in the cogs of a machine, the time is ripe for the children to be shown the world above.

what a great song! thanks so much for posting! I've never heard it before, just like "Listen to Me" i might have to buy it off the itunes store!
PS "Lets watch the world go to the devil" is another song towards the end, between "Haven't you finished with me?" and "One of those nights".... its where the workers burn futura! you don't need to post it, this song is great!

There was a double LP of this show (I watched it in London - Marvelous), like others I would purchase the video if it is ever released. Far more impressive to view live though.

I saw this production in London's 'west end' -it was really quite spectactular. I have the programme and the 'LP' but would love to have a DVD of the Full production (obviously several clips / songs exist, but did it survive in full ?), does anyone know where / how to obtain a copy of this wonderful show. Excellent performances by the entire cast.
