Selling on whatnot isn’t for everyone, but buying is incredible. You can get some REALLY solid deals on stuff in the right shows. We sold a pair of lululemon joggers the other day for $17 that would easily sell for $60 on eBay.
Another great show to keep me company as I work my “real” job. If I had only picked up items worth $15 or more last Saturday, I would’ve came home with one item. And I went through those sales with a fine-tooth comb… 🤷🏼♂️
I was sitting there donating plasma and listening to the podcast. I heard the price tag for Kevin’s phone number and I got lightheaded and they put ice packs on me. I don’t know if it was from the blood being put back in me or the price tag. 😂

Actually Kevin some salvation army's are exactly for the poor. In my hometown cambridge ohio everything in the salvation army is completely free! And none of us resellers go there at all because of that fact. So maybe salvation army as a whole, their mission statement is that but some individual salvation army's give everything away to those in need

Here is why I don't like WhatNot. I think the platform is fine. However WhatNot has manipulated the comic market to death. That being said, competition is great, and it evolves markets, so I'm excited to see what the competition brings.
I think What Not’s biggest downfall is Tik Tok Shop is coming on fast and live shopping. The new gen are on TikTok app 24.7 it makes sense for them to stay in the app plus shop. So I see them also pushing live auctions and shopping on there in the next 6 months. Gary vee pushes TikTok so hard. Once eBay live is complete off the ground I think it will end whatnot or it will buy it out. Look what they did to Tcg player. The storm is coming and I love What Not lol.

This episode is packed with actual reseller information and IT'S GREAT! We have a listing calculator that helps us set goals of how many listings or how much $ we need to list each day. Crunching numbers can be a pain but it really puts things in perspective.
Thanks for the comments about accountants saving you money on your taxes. I’m a cpa and a reseller and if you as a reseller uses a tax preparer that doesn’t help you look for more deductions or even worse belittles your reseller business then find a new tax preparer. Since tax season just ended yesterday 4/18 I have lost my patience with clients that complain about my fee when I have saved them 20 times that amount in taxes. 😂😂. Love the channel. I had your episodes playing on another screen while I was working. You all helped get me through these last long days of tax season. Now I’m pumped to start hitting the yard sales and work on getting my death pile posted.

Ebay used to be primarily an auction site. That was 20 years ago. It has gradually turned more into a store/buy it now site. What Not is causing Ebay to go back to its roots.😂 But I think What Not is just a new trend and will eventually fizzle out.
I think people with adhd are meaner because our brains woke over time and things just fly through our minds and some slip out. Plus we are hella funny and people want to be us!😂We have a charm about us though.
Since I don't do whatnot, I stopped watching those eBay resellers (on YT) who switched over. Its as if they switched over to Amazon - im not interested.
Serve me up this entertainment 😊 we resell and learn from you all we watch! Being in a different country its also awesome to see how and what other places get! We do laugh at the people on their high horses giving be all and end all advice then in 2 videos later going directly against themselves. But in the end do what you do for you! Don't you have to pre-list everything on Whatnot, too? I have SO MUCH (I also have 2 storage units full of stuff 😭) to sell. I've stayed away from Whatnot because I saw where each item was listed in advance.

I donate more to thrift stores than I buy. I do a lot of free pickups and the stuff I don't want to sell goes to thrift stores.

True story: I once saved 300+ mini rubber ducks from going in the trash. Sold them in 3 lots of 100 for over $70 profit.

It takes as much time to list a $15 item as a $3 item. If your basically a one man show low price high volume is not a great model.
depends on what the low priced item is. All items do not take the same time to test, clean, list, and ship. Plus return rate is a factor as well.
