Thank God for my salvation and thank God for this pastor. There are too many feel good ministries out there afraid to preach the whole Bible because its not PC. PC may make people feel good now but when they end up in Hell for following a false teacher it'll be too late. To live by the Word, you have to know the Word. Christians need to read their Bibles every day. Listen to Christian music and talk to God. GOD loves us. He wants us to talk to him. No problem is too big or too small for him. Trust him and surrender to him and bask in His joy for ever.
Remember in John 15 Jesus was speaking to men without any sort of mental anguish therefore the promise of lasting joy doesn't directly apply to the clinically depressed. To the clinically depressed God say endure and be faithful unto death.
