I don’t have a channel yet , but that could could change. First I would State that the finish is case colored and sealed for durability . A true case hardened finish is done by heating and cannot be applied to alloy. The metal is a quite durable alloy and the term pot metal is outdated . Modern alloys used in this rifle as well as the Henry, are a variant of a quite strong alloy known as Zamac2. A recent test of the Henry Golden Boy, inGuns of the Old West, showed no appreciable wear of the alloy parts after 20,000 rounds. The only part to break was a steel screw. This rifle is a copy of the Marlin 39, outwardly. It uses a modular firing group unlike the Marlin. It is capable of firing shorts, longs and long rifles. A trick for fastrrliading is to use a device that holds the22din rows of 15. You remove the mag tube , cover the loading port with a finger, dump all 15in and replace the tube. I regularly shoot , I regularly shoot lever action 22 rifles, I own this rifle, the marlin 39, I Henry Golden Boy, and aWinchester 9422. I also own several centerfire lever action rifle‘s. Winchester 73, 92, 94, and Marlins . I used to-shoot Cowboy Action, but now just plink. Anyone who doesn’t own a lever rifle doesn’t know what they are missing, especially a 22

I own the standard black color chiappa la322. Either shooting pests and rodents or target shooting , it is a very fun little lever rifle

Just went and got one of these myself.
To add to my 22 collection of interesting old actions: a pump, rolling block, martini and an 1885 Low Wall.
I don't take my 22's too seriously. They're just a bit of cheap plinking fun and a chance to play around with all sorts of actions.

I mounted a 3x9x40 scope with high rings, set to 10 yards gives me a 100 yards far zero. 3 out of 3 shots in a 2 inch circle at 100 yards. Very sweet little level action 22lr. I shoot 835 fps semi auto quiet round nose or else 1600 fps stingers hollow points.

Its 10 yards close zero 100 yards far zero with open sights. 25 yards with high rings is also a 100 yards zero.

It’s an odd type of takedown that doesn’t really make it all that portable. Usually takedowns the barrel rotates to disassemble. Nice review…I’ve seen what I needed to see to make a hard pass on this one. I’d never want a rifle where the receiver can literally wobble in my hands.

@@dennisgraham3087 yeah you are lucky you dodged that one. I'm trying to put in a warranty claim on mine...can't select the right country on their warranty form and then when I try to submit it I get an error. Call their customer service line, it hangs up on me immediately when I press "1" to speak to someone. Tried 10 times, finally got it to ring, disconnected after 2 minutes on hold. Tried another 5 times, finally spoke to a human.
I plan on buying a browning tomorrow and if this thing ever gets warrantied I'll sell it.
