  • Starting production in 1880s in Switzerland, Schmidt Rubin series rifles were absolutely ahead of their time featuring fast, straight-pull design fed by double stack, double feed detachable box 6 rounds magazine (originally 12rds capacity using black powder cartridges) . These rifles are knows for being arguably the best military bolt actions in mass production that never seen combat (at least officially). After Swiss established that black powder era is gone, original black powder rifles were rebarreled for new GP11 (1911) smoke-less cartridge and became produced as model 96/11 as it is with this perticular rifle. These rifles were then used in the Swiss army untill 1950s. Made in 1913 as one of the last 96/11 before new SR G11 model production kicked in, this particular rifle is basically NOS using excellent 7,5x55 Swiss cartridge with perfect accuracy.
P.S. I am using a Swedish Mauser M96 5 round stripper clips as its easier to feed and readily available in the stores
