This is Citizen's (and the world's) first ever analog watch that can connect via Bluetooth (profile 4.0) to a phone. It is the Citizen Eco-Drive Proximity and it is designed to worked exclusively with the Apple iPhone 4S or 5. You'll need to download the Citizen Proximity App to connect them. Please DO READ the instructions with this watch to understand how it works. Model Reference: AT7030-05E
Martin watches were actually the first smart watch. They first appeared in 2007. The one I have I can call and receive calls, receive text messages, use as a remote for my camera on my phone. It will also do google search by saying "ok google" ( after pushing a button ) and search on the phone. Has a separate Citizen Miyota analog watch with a battery separate from the smart part. The smart part lasts about 4-7 days before needing a charge.
I think it would be awesome if Citizen and Bulova teamed up and made a Precisionist that runs on the Eco-Drive power source! It would be very accurate and you would never have to worry about changing the battery!
yes the watch charges both and also has a battery power indicator integrated in the watch that will show the life when connected to BT 4.0 and when it is Turned off will change and show the life time.
if you're going to do a review you have to do a full review to let the person see to make them want to buy it because I'm interested but just because you was like well I'm not going to get my phone to show you how it works I have to find another videos that words working so I could see how it works thanks
I stopped watching after: "...i'm not gonna go running to get another phone". That's what i came here for, to see how this smart watch works. Laziness at it's finest
Yep. Zero effort to display the ONLY real function we're here to see.
Would you be able to show the pairing process?
The Precisionist is a watch made by Bulova which has the smoothest sweeping hand ever, and is accurate within 10 seconds a year. The problem is that its battery only lasts around 3 years. Having the Eco-Drive, the Precisionist could last a lifetime without changing a battery.
I feel like it would be much more intuitive with a simple calendar subdial, power reserve subdial and 60 min chrono subdial, day-date wheel, with the different modes/phone functions on the outer chapter ring, activated by turning the crown. Maybe a 3rd pusher on the other side to sync date/time/message data?
MetaWatch had a an analogue watch that has Bluetooth in 2011 & Sony Ericsson & Fossil had one in 2006--2009.
Hi,
I would have 3 questions:
1) Bluetooh in the watch can be turned off, or is always on?
2) Does the app on the iphone work in background?
3) Does the watch notify sms too?
Thank you realy
ive been waiting for a smartwatch that needs no battery but im not convinced by this. love eco drive but this watch doesnt look great or do anything i would want it to do.
does it work on other phones??????? please reply im thinking on getting it but i have an android phone
Welcome, I want to buy a Citizen AT8020-03l. So you can sell the party there?
So this watch is only for iphone.
Is the wrist strap interchangeable?
@laurelsandlions I thought it contains echo drive as it says on the face? Doesn't it charge both Bluetooth And the watch?
I agree, very gimmicky. Since most users will carry their phone with them, the extra notifications will be pretty pointless. About the only useful feature would be the vibration alarm if you move too far away from the phone.
Not yet.
pebble. better in every way.
did you get one btw ariel? they are shipping in under a week ;-)
This doesn't work with android?
wow just seeing your video and you predicted watch would be able to make calls. well 2019 apple watches
im also suprised it doesnt have an alarm function!?
I work in the office and sometimes I don't bring my cell phone to other meetings around the office building, it could clue me in on what happens when I leave it behind I think?!@&%
Nice review but would have liked it better if you read out of a script rather than stumble and make it up extempore. It will flow better.
I like the idea of a watch NOT being connected to my phone.
also u said ''text message'' indicator. it doesnt show texts.
None of u guys did a video what the watch look like in the dark.
10:09 what thickness of the wrist of the person in the video?
It's good for Android & iOS
is it run android? thanks
used exclusively with the Apple iPhone 4S or 5 so no
A "review" where the "reviewer" says "The chronograph runs for I think an hour or so", "I believe it's a sapphire crystal, I'm not sure...". How can you call it a review if you don't even care to research what you're reviewing?
OMG.. Out of focus blurry video
Skip to 1:13 to avoid it
Dear employees at Citizen,
does it run on android?
Did you find any answer , I am tired of searching ...
I'm surprised that you'd review this. I thought it was quite a gimmick piece personally.
Feel so sorry that doesn't connect with Android! :(
Dear employees at Citizen,
keep to the atomic timekeeping! this just isn't needed. the world just needs more sync towers.
Thank you!
Quizá en vivo no se vea tan feo, porque ya sus casi 12,000 pesos mexicanos no lo hacen muy atractivo.
I was given one of these as a gift about 10 years ago and honestly, as a watch, its a pile of shit, i FUCKING hate it. Waaaayyyy over complicated, difficult to read, just too much guff crammed onto the analogue face. If you absolutely need a smart watch, there are much better options. Just buy a nice watch that just, y'know, tells the time
Poor quality video
Y’all talk too much
