We started talking about games and when we were at NFS:HS he told me he had a Diablo... I got freaking shocked :D everytime one of us went to the other's home, NFS High Stakes was the main game we played!!!

This one of the best NFS games with one of the most criminally underrated features ever: change the language to German or French and you can play with German and French police cars (complete with different siren sound effects)! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!
I remember the Caprice with Turbo and Heavy mode on...I was hilarious because you would hit the car being chased, and it would fly in the air like a toy lol sooo many hours of my childhood put into this game :P

@tieknul Some of the attention to detail in these games was crazy. I remember hooking up a 3dfx card to NFSll SE and with the in-car view on one of the tracks the flies nd shit would hit the screen damn it looked super realistic even now.

If you have the original psp you can get it cracked with chicken or something and play it on the psp =D, you can get a orignal psp off ebay for less than 50 dollars (AUS) so yea im playing it off a psp not a computer. Its worth it trust me
I miss the days of making a game as realistic, and simulate the best physics possible. Albeit, nfshs wasnt physically realistic, but its so much better than the crap today. The same goes for NASCAR racing games.
New Need for speed games- Shallow hip hop, uninspired presentation, street racing scene only gangsters could care about. NFS high stakes- Classy presentation, great music, great gameplay, romantic escapism.
