To address the difference in approaches between joker and marvin. Each approach would have it's own flaws in the hip hop community, different dancers prefer different things so its hard to be objective on the matter
Marvin might lose some points for hard resets with some judges, while other judges will appreciate the foundation and the fact that bounce is one of the textures he uses. It is a hip hop category after all, so some foundation is necessary
Other judges might see it as neutral, they dislike the resets and lack of connection but appreciate the variety in texture in movement
Joker would have a similar situation with the judges. Some judges want more bounce and more _traditional_ textures in a round than that, some judges love the fact everything connects so well, other judges are neutral to it
I find myself neutral to both, I want marvins groove more well connected to his other concepts, and I want jokers bounce to be more traditional at times

Always interesting to pick up some new knowledge from others' perspective. I hear you on Marvin's approach right on. When you were talking about Joker's, I thought of my dance. Whenever I dance for a long period of time during the day I always concentrate on limiting resets, rebound from fails and errors, and come back to my strenghts every now and then. But sometimes I feel like I'm going in circles, reverting to similar patterns and trademarks that I did before, and I end up loosing concentration cause I feel like I'm not getting out of the box. It's really hard to keep surprising and reinventing yourself as much as you can, that's why I rely heavily on pacing changes. I thought about that cause personally I could read what Joker's approach was, and felt the outlines of what his style could offer.
But his BTM session is a turnaround cause he felt less predictable. More free
Man is still smooth and skilled, I'm keeping up with his career.
TLDR I like my style just fine, just that I feel frustrated whenever I sense a vicious cycle in my dance.

I have watched this battle at least 8 times i am a fan of both dancers have known marvin for like 9 or 10 years the first time i saw this i thought marvin won the 2nd time i thought joker won and i changed opinion a few more times but now i def know joker won cuz i feel like he kept coming up with new concepts each round and his dance had more essence throughout and marvin had good moments but did not maintain same energy in all roinds
