Walking the garden this morning discussing companion planting and insect pressure. What to look for. #gardening #culinaryherbs #kitchengarden #companionplanting #basil
Jill, I had a terrible time with basil last year. My Holy Basil was a complete bust. This year I bought seed from you guys & they popped right up. I’ve got some in my Greenstalk & more ready to go in the ground. Thank you!
I love the dwarf basil, I’ve been topping off the flowering to coming out on mine. I’m glad you just mentioned that, that assure me I didn’t stop growth.
Great video! Have you done a video on how you get such amazing tomatoes? I have so much to learn! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful garden and all your advice😘😘
As always, beautiful! 😊 Look for brown worms on the leaves. I went out at the crack of dawn and found them on my leaves. They run back down to the ground, once the sun comes up. Yes, the "world" is going crazy...BUT, we do not have to ride with them! 😁
Jill i just survived my first monster TORNADO! Robert Lee tx. And my garden lived through it too. It seems that tornados are the new WEAPON of choice, farmers seem to be the target. Hang on folks i think its gonna get worse too. Lord i never prayed so loud on my knees crying for help. Scary. Im glad it didnt go your way. Keep up the great work and we never let them stop us!
I have the same problem of a chewer eating holes in my chard and a number of other plants with the black droppings left behind. Finally found the culprit, a white fuzzy caterpillar. Looked it up and it seems to be the Yellow Bear caterpillar from the Tiger Moth. They are active in spring and fall. I first found these all over some flowers a few years ago. Your garden looks awesome!
What do you do with the marshmallow, Jill? I’ve never heard of anyone planting or using it before. Your garden is looking great, Jill! Keep up the great work! Tell Greg and Pops I said hey!
Good morning, Jill All is well down here so far ,but its lightening again and raining as we are on north end of lake Conroe & dam . It stopped raining in the afternoon yesterday after I came home from a CT scan of my lungs ( covid) I made a bucket of comfrey tea , my 1 bush was so big ,I needed to cut it anyways . So should I pull the jalapeños that are growing ? As they are about your size . I was so excited to see a zucchini growing also 😊 Gardening brings me joy 😊 I cant ever grow cilantro , it always dies on me . That spearmint looked great , thats what I needed as peppermint and my tummy dont like one another .what do yall feed the tomatoes? Ive given fish emulation, miracle grow granules more potassium/potash when flowering . Now i watched about the comfrey tea , but to only put 1/4 comfrey to 3/4 rain water or well . God bless you Mrs j Montgomery County, Texas 🙏
Beautiful gardens! Would you do a video on how you feed your veggies and herbs and how often, what you use etc. to make them produce.. I don't have a greenhouse or a big garden. I used a net bag over the squash in containers and took off the net bag when it began to flower for pollination. I picked my first zucchini! Now I am starting to see cabbage worms and squash bugs on zucchini. Lots of the wooly worms this year ate some of my pepper seedlings. The fight is on! BTW, Did you feel the earthquakes day before yesterday I think, not far from you? See Mary Greeley news for info.
Looking great Jill. I am so amazed by what all y'all grow. I have a question if someone can answer, do patty pan squash grow like summer straight necks/ crook neck or more like pumpkins? Up until I'd say the past 10 years or so, we never seen patty pan in our area, so we never had them before , each year we add new foods to our garden to try, we figure if we dont like them the animals well this year we're adding patty pan probably in the next week or so , so just curious on what I should watch for. Thanks so much.❤
??Jill, I have mushrooms growing in my seedling starts from soil, I guess, is it harmful to them. I growing your tomatoe seeds that came with my order from you.
Our lights flickered 3x yesterday, I was hoping it wouldn't go out . Is all OK now . I'd have to go stay at my sons if that happened as after I caught Covid, it ruined my lungs, and I require oxygen concentration when it's very humid . God bless you ... Josette Texas 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hi Jill! I'm just up the road in Burleson and really enjoy watching your garden grow! What do you use to combat the thrips? Thank you!
You have been through so many challenges- I am happy to see you excited about your crops. Hugs from Portugal.

The high tunnel provides protection from sun and wind and some nighttime warmth?

My stuff outside look terrible from all the rains
How do you prevent squash bugs?
When you have a high tunnel do the pollinators just fly in or do you self pollinate?
WOW your plants are absolutely beautiful. God bless you and your family and Much love 💖✝️
