Hi. I'm a 58 year old, who still remember the wonder and fear I felt during watching the excellent movie of the rendition of the book of the Time Machine. I'm not sure if this movie has been updated but imo, it need not be.
This is sublime material. A book on this subject I read was equally transcendent. "Temporal Echoes: Amelia's Odyssey Through Ancestral Shadows" by Vivian Rosewood
Steinbeck is a good choice as are some of the other classics we read in our youth, but may have forgotten. I’d love to hear so many of these again, too
So here's my question. Let's say you had one of those tiny time machines. One of his little models of a time machine. And you push the little handle forward. So it begins travelling through time into the future. But you're sitting there watching from the future of the time you pushed the handle. You're already in the future. So why would it go anywhere? Why would it disappear? Really, what should happen, if you had a full sized one and watched it happen, the time traveller would appear to freeze and move extremely slow. But you can still see it. You're in the future already. Right? A hundred years could go by and he'd be there frozen in time. You could even write messages to him that he should be able to read just fine so long as it stands for long enough. Like a sign with big letters that you'd put in front of his eyes and leave it there for at least a few months. Maybe it would say "Hey stop going so fast. We'd like to talk to you. Then you can be on your way to the distant future." Or "Did you forget to pack a lunch? You seem ill prepared for such an expedition. You're wearing a suit for Christ's sake. Bring some tools like sample jars and a weapon. We have tasers now. Non lethal but effective. Maybe some pepper spray. Or a handgun even." Okay I'm being silly now but really. Shouldn't it be that way? Why wouldn't it?
@@jameswalker3973 But you'd also be there in the future. You'd just be getting there slower. But you'd still be there if you sat around looking at the spot. You see what I mean? We're all time travellers. We're all travelling into the future right now. We're just going at regular speed.
@@PaulTheSkeptic can't be in two places at once. That model is at the end of time, same for if sent backwards, it would be at the end of time. Same space, different time.
@@jameswalker3973 The future is the different time. A future in which you are there looking at it. Same space but different place? I know it makes sense in the conventional wisdom we all learn from movies. But I'm calling that into question.
@@PaulTheSkeptic grab your socks as I believe both beginning and end of time are the same place. Even though it is one machine the forward and backward analogs can't exist in the same space/time. Result is the Big Bang.
AI hasn’t mastered this kind of human voice with quiet human mouth sounds and subtle breaths. This is a professional and it shows! Loved this man’s style and voice.
The different narrators is a distraction and breaks the continuity of the storey as one has to get used to and adapt to a different accent and voice each time. Ruins the storey for me at least.
I love the way they have been so committed to helping people who suffer from insomnia and wish I could have supported them more 😢❤
I just wanted to thank you. Thank you for investing your time to do this. It's incredibly kind of you.
YES!!!
H. G Wells, gave me a great deep sleep. Thank you sir.

Thank you for reading this
Really enjoyed the Time Machine, thank you.
Thank you! One of my favorites from childhood read exactly how it sounded in my head. Superb!
This app is better than anything I've ever used for audiobooks to help me sleep.
Thank you for your work.
Great narrator choice for the reading. Fabulous voice-over 👌 Thank you
There were multiple from the UK and US. What "narrator"? It was just from Librivox.
Goodnight

We generally try to stick with books in public domain, but that might change in the future!
THANKS!
Thank you!
I remember reading this book oh so long ago. Thank you for the reading

Hey 👋🏻
Why does the narrator change during the reading?
This kept waking me up.

Because it is in the future and you are in the present.

Hi
👋 😊
Really anoying voice
Is the voice AI generated?
No it was recorded by Paul Adams for Librivox. Info and links are in the video description. I don't use ai for voices. Only for thumbnail images
Very well narrated story. Thank you. Mario SIrSirReal Villarreal.
@@sleepaudiobooks It was recorded very cleanly!
