I’ve been following along with this series and it’s the best one out there!! I’m a total beginner and I’ve had so much fun. you are such a great teacher! Thank you!!
This is the first time I saw this stitch and tried it. It worked beautifully! I've been crocheting since I was 5 years old and I can say this is a stitch my Grandma didn't know. Great videos. I thought I'd brush up my crocheting before going on the Summer Crochet along with Mike and Yarnspirations. Thank You Kristen.
This is the first time I watched any of your videos ...I have to say ur a great teacher and very easy to understand ...u actually show up close as u do it and it's soooooo unbelievably easier to understand....thanks soooooo much...😉
This is brilliant! I am an advanced crocheter and struggled with this stitch because of the first row / second row business but no more! I'm glad I found you today! Subscribed to your channel and will follow along with you! Thank you!
Turned 49 this year.. decided to learn to crochet. This video is fantastic. You ae a wonderful teacher! I have a feeling people are going to be getting some hand made items for Christmas this year. 🧶
I just started to crochet best video ever! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Easy to understand and follow. I had so many questions and you answered all of them. Blessings
Very hard to understand / see where the last single crochet stitch is place at the end of a row. If could show a more clear video on the ends of the rows, that would be so helpful.
I'm confused on what hole the hook goes into. The one row looked like you put it in a hole the other looks like it's just under the the top chain or v's. Is it the same?
Thank you so much for this tutorial video! I wanted to learn how to do this stich for a little carrying bag but I learned so much more from you! ♥️ My Meme was teaching me more about crochet but we just lost her. She knew how to remove extra beginning chains but wasn't able to teach me before she left us. You just helped me salvage valuable information that I hope to be able to pass on to someone in the family one day, to continue the tradition. I subscribed! 😁
I've done well with the other basic stitches, thanks to your videos, but I'm just not grasping this one for some reason. Maybe I need more experience under my belt. Thanks for teaching us!
I've been trying to do this stitch, I've watched multiple videos but can't seem to get the right amount of stitches. There would always be 1 left. But after watching this video it's safe to say I have succeeded. Thank you so much!
Great video!!!! Thank you so much - I am starting a temperature blanket and want to use this stitch, and you explained it so much better than the zillion other videos I watched. Do you have a video on changing yarn color at the end of the row in this stitch?
it took me a few times but I was able to make swatches of your first 4 videos. This linen stitch, #5 is just killing me. It's just not happening for me:(:(
When you are first learning the best way I found to find it easily is to immediately put a stitch marker thru the chain when you make them, or after the single crochet, chain 1 single crochet stop, and put your stitch marker around the chain. The next row you put your crochet hook under (not into the chain itself) these markers, and your single crochet will be worked around the chain. You will only have to do this once or twice before you will “get” where these spaces are, and then you can find them either by feeling with your fingers, which is useful for fuzzy yarns, or by recognizing the spot between the single crochets!
I also thought the same thing. I had to replay the video a few times. I think the first chain (closest to the hook) was pulled tight so you could barely see it. If you watch closely, the knot looking thing next to the hook is ch. 1 I believe. She briefly points to it with her hook.
I've been looking at the moss stitch for doing a baby blanket with and I'm not entirely sure why your different instructions matter. You say to use a starting chain of 2x + 1, and to chain 2 on the turning chain when starting a new row. This makes it a "1-row repeat" pattern but all of the other moss stitch patterns I've seen don't have these extra instructions and are also just 1-row repeat patterns.
Samantha Plummer I’m sorry. Basically its single crochet and then a chain. The next row the single crochet goes in the chain space from the row before and so it shifts back over.
Oh also I have watched so many videos like alot .....I have been crocheting for abt 6 months and I'm addicted ....I'm 50 yrs old and I'm going thru a divorce and it keeps me busy
I understand. Crocheting helped me get through my divorce, too. I think it was the repetitive stitches.... it helps calm the mind. How are you doing now? How long has it been? (7 years ago I terminated a 30+ year marriage.

Donnalee Lindner Thank you so much for your kind encouragement! ☺️ Thanks for watching, too! ❤️
these lessons are awesome!! You've created them in the perfect order and I feel like I can really do this! Thank you
I’ve just joined, I absolutely love watching the beginning, what a sense of humour. I’m looking forward to watching. 😊 Thank you.
The best tutorials I've seen, thank you so much.
I really like your new and improved version of linen/granite stitch. Will use this on my next scarf,

I watched a lot of tutorials for this stitch and I couldn't understand it but this one I got it right away! Thank you so much!
Best linen stitch tutorial!

This is the best video for this stitch. I’ve tried several others and never been able to get a good result but this one works out perfectly.
I’m so glad that my tutorial helped! 🎉❤️❤️
Literally the best teacher. ❤️❤️

*you're the best Kristen!!* I wish you a very happy new year! 💖
Thx so much I watched ur half double crochet and I have started making a blanket from that thx so much ❤❤❤
Love it! You've just made my crocheting so much easier! Thank you so much!

the way that you explained it is sooo helpful, now I just look at it as the hole beside the V which I found o=no one explaied in any other video!

Yay!! I’m so glad
Thank you, I’m going to do it this way because it’s less confusing. Subscribed.
Thank you! You said it perfectly!
Recently took up crochet again after a good 15 year break and I love watching your videos, they're so helpful, easy to follow and cheerful. ♥
Oh that's wonderful! I'm so glad to have helped. thank you for your kind encouragement. it means a lot. :-)

I feel you...me too! It's so hard to find the right stitch hole (primarily on the turns) and I have holes on my beginning chain 😳
Me too! My samples are making a circle!?!? I’ve tried twice now and can’t get it.
Thank you Kristen for a great tutorial. Would you mind telling me which brand of crochet hook you are using in your video tutorial of linen stitch?
Clear description thank you!
love this trick with the chain two.... brilliant, thank you!
Thank you so much!
You are the best
I get completely lost on this one!!! I don't understand where I need to insert the crochet that famous "Chain 1" space I don't see it! Please help
I'm trying to learn this one too.

Genius, Thank you!@@valeriekoochin3569
You said you go into the 3rd chain from the hook and don't count the hook. Then you counted the hook as 1. Do you see how that's so confusing?
I also thought the same thing. I had to replay the video a few times. I think the first chain (closest to the hook) was pulled tight so you could barely see it. If you watch closely, the knot looking thing next to the hook is ch. 1 I believe. She briefly points to it with her hook.

Looking for the "v" on the front of my work and going between them really helped me find the "chain one space."
HOOK - I used a Furls Odyssey 5.5 mm (size I) hook in this video series. furlscrochet.com/collections/odyssey#oid=1062 (aff. link)

You are a good techer
how did you make the one with different colours
After multiple tries I still cannot get this one yet. I'll keep trying.
I usually love your videos, but this one was a bit confusing for me. :/
Samantha Plummer I’m sorry. Basically its single crochet and then a chain. The next row the single crochet goes in the chain space from the row before and so it shifts back over.
Kristen, can you use the Bernat blanket yarn for these?
Oh also I have watched so many videos like alot .....I have been crocheting for abt 6 months and I'm addicted ....I'm 50 yrs old and I'm going thru a divorce and it keeps me busy
I use the hobby to help me deal with chronic pain. This is the most relaxing hobby I have.
I understand. Crocheting helped me get through my divorce, too. I think it was the repetitive stitches.... it helps calm the mind. How are you doing now? How long has it been? (7 years ago I terminated a 30+ year marriage.
In your first row, you only go into ONE loop of the foundation chain. Is that just a personal preference?
NspiredCreation yes. I think it keeps a nicer look to the edge and easier to come back through to add a border if needed.
Me and my mom recently have been trying to use Crochet as a hobby but it's sorta really confusing and I just find it really hard :((
Idk what im doing wrong, when i get done it's all wavy and not straight
Me too!
Why keep mentioning a method of plus one if you aren’t using it? Makes it very confusing.
Thanks for yet another great tutorial. I'm working my way through your beginner series! Are you using a Furls crochet hook?
mine is so lopsided :(

Or am I missing something in the instructions?
Why the hell does the video cut like 4 times in the beginning chain...you count over like 3 times???? Super confusing
💖
