Eveeyone in my family and majority of my friends call me Codyman/Codeman and it's the same for the 4 5 other Codys I know idk why either it just sticks lol
I love the fact that Mach just said "Okay, let's do ten", no pushing or belittling or friendly nudging to do some more. Cody could've said "three" and Mach would've said "Great, let's do three together".
One handed push ups that raised $5m for charity and the only reason he stopped at a 1000 was because the orphanage next door was burning down and he had to rush in and out 12 times carrying out 6 kids each time.
I love that in real life, Macho Man was still playing his persona. People talked about seeing him somewhere random with all his garb on, just walking around. RIP!
100% of us in this comment section did the elbow drop as a kid. Drop an elbow on the like button for old times sakes. Thanks Macho Man. I'm so glad you've only gotten more popular with time. Hogan tried to steal your shine every time you got the strap but even a Hulkamaniac like myself grew up and has you on my Mount Rushmore.
Macho man was the epitome of 1980’s wrestling superstar. He had the gimmicks, he could be a heel or a baby face, he was high flying, he had speaking chops, plus he had the coolest name…. The Macho man!!! But the coolest thing was Macho Man always gave solid advice to young fans!
So happy Cody Rhodes found his gimmick. Has been underrated for so long. And the Macho Man will always give the greatest interactions ohhhhh yueaaAAHHHH
great story! A side note: I like how Cody dresses! Very professional, classy and dignified! There's nothing that compares to a well dressed man in a suit (or uniform)
You got to be a part of wrestling history I love hearing these interviews and podcasts. The wrestling world has a whole new side we can look into all the stories that you didn’t before this technology was available. Thank you for sharing to all the wrestling stars, both current, and retired you have made a young kids childhood awesome for so many.❤
A lot of kids get disillusioned with wrestling when they learn it's a work. That's normally around 12-13 if I had to guess. 6-10 range is probably most common age for boys who are into it growing up. Kids wise up fast, and are very perceptive. They just lack experience, understanding, and complex rationality, tbf a lot of adults don't have much of that either.
Earlier in the interview he stats how when he was younger.. his dad would let him around the boys but he had to stay out of the way and be in the background. Him stating his wasnt as young means that he was now able to walk amongst the boys.
@@TheWolfman112I heard that first coming from Honky Tonk Man and that tells you everything you need to know about it to determine whether there's just the tiniest sliver of truth to it.
When I was in HS I had a teacher that had gone to HS with Randy. He said the "Macho Man" persona always made him chuckle back then Randy was a relative quiet individual, yet very athletic student. Always seemed to be doing situps and pushups (supposedly set a school record for situps and pushups, at least at the time). The idea of Randy randomly doing a set of pushup with a ten year old kid would probably have made my teacher laugh heartily.
The Macho Man is one of the Nicest people in wrestling from THAT era. Which is saying a lot considering it was the era of Racist Selfish Power Hungry ego maniacs
Randy was maybe the BEST wrestler ever when it came to dealing with young fans. He would volunteer his time always in Florida to meet young fans especially ones with special needs. One of my best friends who has MS lived in Tampa as a kid and he got to have dinner with Randy and Sherri Martel
Dude was super chill. He definitely had his moments and he wasn’t perfect by any means but there’s more than a few stories of fan interactions where he is just the chillest guy in the room and really positive with everybody. Look up his Arsenio Hall interview. Fucking massively positive interview.
I didn’t get to meet Mach’ but the wrestlers I did get to meet back in the 90s was LIFE CHANGING for me at the times… could NOT imagine being backstage and get to hang with them .. just normal life for him back then like I was living mine but Codes was a lot cooler!
I wish I could've had an interaction with Macho Man like that.
"HEY KID! LET'S DO PUSH-UPS! OOOH YEAH!"

Me too. Instead i got the Stephanie McMahon interaction.

That don't work for me brother
I haven't heard about any bad attitude towards fans from him...he might have been slightly crazy, but I reckon that he was a friendly nutter 😁
sometimes being crazy helps dealing with the public. @rockarola55
His arsenio interview. Even the macho man cries
They were talking about Hogan
Bro his life could be a movie from a kid to the win

Only person who comes close is Kairi Sane. Macho just had something special with his elbow drop. Just so graceful
He just floated in the air. It looked so awesome.
Macho Bayley and kaiki sane have the best elbow drops imho

Such a short but well spoken and believable story. If Hulk was telling the story, it’d be like 1,000 pushups or something.
