I like that you explain everything, what temperature and airflow you choose etc. I find it very helpful. I'm sure it may be tiring to repeat it all the time, but it's definitely beneficial for anyone new joining in who also wants to learn to do repairs while being entertained by you and rooting for you, rather than just some dry tutorial video on its own or something like that.
As a newbie who just did my first solder yesterday, I would love for you to explain your methods and how you do things in your videos. Every little detail is significant to viewers like me, videos like yours are a wealth of knowledge so please don't skimp on anything haha!
Not... really worth it. First of all, because you have to remember that these that are shown are pretty much twice picked. Once by the sellers (senders) into a specific category that Joey then himself picks through. On the other side, what you'd find in a pallet... i've seen people basically chuck out (of the repair process to a lower grade, scavenger bodies, basically) even upwards to 60% of the contents of an electronics pallet. There's a couple videos from Finland that the guy doing the repairs basically lost the entire pallet because it was utter junk. Broken parts, charred components etc. The only pallet Joey might even dip his toe into would be the pallet from a repair shop going out of business, because repair shops only keep stuff that's usable (for space reasons). I've a collection of every Nokia phone i've owned and separately, every Nokia product in the mobile range ever made. Took me 14 years to assemble. That's how i managed, old repair shops making bundles to discard, for a profit, their stock or scavenger units. Early on, i tried boxes of Nokia phones from random sellers. They were almost entirely junk, worn, broken, cracked, defective, even found one stinking distinctly of urine. TLDR: not worth it, not really profitable.
Honestly, I like you to explain how you fix stuff, if it's not something you do a lot on the channel, like ps5s. If it's just a ps5, a shorter quick fix would suffice as it allows for something more interesting, like idk a ps3 or something.
Ah, good old low-firmware consoles. I sold a PS4 Pro on behalf of my dad. I was just low enough to run PPW so I was able to sell it for £235 as opposed to the £120 it would otherwise have been worth. That's where having specialist knowledge comes in to play. You'll make far more than you would have, just like I made far more than I would have!
I prefer with explanations. Especially if you would touch on how you troubleshoot or recognize certain components, like when it's a cap or diode or fuse or resistor, how you troubleshoot other stuff like mosfets, how gates, drains, sources work, etc. Tons of content for you and tons of education for us.
I found your Chanel Season 1 episode 98-100 ish watched back about 20 episodes. This time It was the first time I caught the live stream and it was awesome! Had to leave before you finished up the drive part so I still watched this episode! Love you genuine personality! I do not know very much about repairing electronics but really enjoy your content. Also a fan of Joey learns 😂!!
Hey, I had an idea! How about you include your kid in your videos? Maybe you could do some fun projects together, like building something with electronics? There are some really cool electronic puzzles out there that are perfect for kids. I think they would love them!
Should you count Twitch Ad $ during your "hours to repair cost"? That could help bring your hourly wage up even though you're spending more time? Might be interesting to think about. Don't do repairs during ads, and wait for ad block to be finished to resume.
Class joey came across your channel and hooked inspired me to give it a go myself, ps3 fat started , scary messing with stuff I’m unsure with but was great Nintendo switch learning all the bits and pieces is mint! Keep them coming mate
just a question, how come you use solder and flux separate when flux core solder is a thing? i dont know much about electronics but when i was doing soldering for job training, that’s what i was given to use. just curious!
I like the explanation repairs but not on repetitive repairs, if you’ve seen the repair 15-20times explained you don’t need it repeated again, but if it’s an unknown or not seen before then yes explain what is going on, that how you learn & teach, imo.
Your merch could generate more profit if it's something tech related and about your customers. Nothing wrong with Joey Does Tech cup, but it's your accomplishment and not theirs.
Just had to pause this video because checking the estimated profit column and it seems like a lot of them are wrong. Take episode 3, bought switch for £50, no parts cost, estimated selling price is £85. even minus the postage that should read £31.01 and not £23.36. Checked a lot of them under the estimated profit and a lot are wrong unless your deducting something else.
Considering he has nearly 85,000 subscribers on RUclips and averages 500 people watching a livestream, that’s only 0.006% of viewers who may have seen this repair.
As Northridgefix would say..that HDMI port is Hiroshima. Again...people watch a YT video and say..hey I can do that...and in reality...they damage it beyond repair. Please Joey stop encouraging shitty work. I would NEVER hire a person who did that work. That is a fail and will fail within 1 month of useage. Plastic will crack and pins will come loose. This is NOT a fix. It is a fail.
Hiroshima is a place where 200,000 people died. It's also a place where you can visit a museum to look at a piece of skin and a fingernail, all that's left of a pupil who died in the blast. That's the level you expect when watching Northridgefix (does he even do anything nowadays but complain about customers and shill his webshop?), but I'd say we really don't need that on this channel.
Hi Jonny, as I don't know your technical background I'm going to be careful what I say, how is Joey encouraging work that is not up to par? Can you explain exactly what was done wrong here and how you would have done the repair? Thanks.
@@garystevens6831 It is the previous work that was not up to IPC-A-610 standards that should be dismissed as a fail. We offer a year of warranty on all of our repairs and they all meet workmanship standards. Not blaming Joey at all other than accepting this repair as a pass. Every attempt should be made to dismiss this type of work.
@@jonnymakers9560 Thanks for your reply Jonny, wouldn't this be more toward IPC-7711C/7721C - Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies?
Great. Note I repair these, and I have seen a lot of damage from folks who attempted to so called fix a PS5. People...Please stop trying to repair these. Send it into a PROFESSIONAL REPAIR. shop . That HDMI repair #1 is disgusting and NOT professional.

You should try to buy electronics in bulk! A pallet of defective PS5 or Xbox would give you a lower cost for sure
Imagine the whole pallet is bad 💀
Were can you get a pallet if just ps5's? The ones I've seen are a blind auction. You don't know what's on the pallet until you buy it and receive it.

Me personally all the step explaining is fantastic for people like me as a beginner and hobbiest
Deep grooves at Level 7 👊🏻😂 nice one! ❤️

Great video as always Joey! Definitely prefer the longer for more explanatory videos!
Keep up the great dialogue with the expected values and settings. Inspiring me to try and improve my hands on knowledge.
Great work Joey! Would love to see a shop tour, or maybe just how you have the scope mounted
EXPLAIN EVERYTHING! I'm trying to learn electronics!

i like when you repair 2 items on video even if is video for day or two late
I liked the approach today. Your live viewers definitely saved you time and money, while making you money. 🤣

Please explain your process. I just spend a ton of money on microsoldering tools and I need to learn how to use this stuff 😅

Yes please keep explaining how you do your process.
I Use subtitles because my wife is deaf. They are amusing sometimes. I mean it just told me you grabed a donut board.
Video idea, Fixing your monitor! Probably firmware however very unsure :)

What a crazy amount of work. But it turned out great. Hope the Streak continues.

Scratching the ground pads to review the copper a little would have gave you more solid connection on the ground pads

afternoon joey great video as usal
Another great video, thank you for bringing them 🎉❤
Could we get 1 hour of JDT fixathon?
My first HDMI port replacement LOOKS 10000 times better then that (thanks to your videos) i did my first one 2 weeks ago.. Have pictures to show
Looks like someone drilled the ground holes for the hdmi port, please correct me if I’m wrong.. too circular as opposed to oval shaped.. 🤙🏼🇦🇺
Looks to me like someone had a different HDMI port and tried to make it fit by extending the ground holes..
i would prefer the indepth explanations as eventually it could help someone who is amateur grade fix their problem/device
Enjoy the explanations, hate when it’s live stream footage.
Hi @JDT you said £61.43 after fees but your title on the column says including fees?

That looked like they drilled those ground holes for the port, they were very circular.
what happened to the updated version of sally’s spectacular spreadsheet?
Never use microfiber on the board it creates static electricity which can break the motherboard
Is that so? What other thing would you use? Just Q-tips? Paper towel?
What happened to the ground holes on the hdmi port?
Don’t worry question answered itself 😂
Eggsalent Joey...Peace
6:19 looks a bit like you ripped a cap of the board while cleaning (right besides the 6 legged chip)
Everything's still there
Ebay doesn't do selling fees anymore
Unfortunately they do if you’re a business (as JoeyDoesTech is)
Great video 👍
that fw can easy sell for 500 euro and more

What do you mean sorry?
Please explain…
😂😂 quoting jerry rig?
Lick it! 😂
I was really looking to watching a new JDT video. Instead all I got was a rerun 😢😞👎

Make a new ebay account and evade the taxes, i dont know why you would ever pay that shit
I buy, repair, and sell vintage audio and my margins are 300 to 400% or higher. You are fixing the wrong equipment.
Who the f is Sally?

Continue with explane is bether
