One thing u hear about the industry is you will hear a lot more no’s then yes’s and whilst it’s really discouraging, but every audition and rejection it’s a new experience gained. Something to really take into consideration about acting and the acting industry is that you have to keep on trying over and over again to start building up more skills, confidence, acceptance of rejection, and most importantly, resilience. Don’t let this get you discouraged! Trying out for a big Netflix show like XO Kitty is a big leap, so if you still were wanting to continue acting, I’d recommend auditioning for smaller roles and working your way up. I honestly love this! I feel like this generation, because of the huge usage of social media, and our everyday lives, expects perfection out of everybody! Everybody thinks that everyone should be good at everything and they make fun of people who are not or people that are trying. And in most cases, you do have to try and practice and learn, and it takes years to become really good at something! Most people are not born prodigies. So I’m so glad that you tried it, even if you realize that it wasn’t for you, but that’s the beauty of life to try 1 million things until you find what fits!
This!! I also want to share experiences that not everyone is perfect and being human means it’s okay to fail! I hope to continue sharing these type of feelings and experiences to the world to show that it’s okay to struggle. As long as we try again

Im on the same boat, except I am studying acting through a theater company. Im so proud of you already that you tried it and even if you didnt make it, thats fine! Never give up if you do like the career. The odds are always minimal, especially for big productions like these. Id say, try with little things first, like small castings with small productions. Even maybe as an extra, to just see. And once you got more experience, you can try for other big things. But, absolutely you were extremely couragious to do it. And maybe who knows, one day you will see yourself on the big screen 😉 all the best babe ❤
1:35 i have got to say i had the same experience when i did a BTEC Performing Arts (Acting). I purposely took the course cause i knew i didn’t like acting from my core. Same as you, i had very little experience. The experience in the course was overwhelming cause i initially thought my teachers would ‘train’ me to learn acting. However, it was more like how you described, just figuring out on my own. Acting really does humble you tho, memorising lines, pausing in certain lines, relating it to an emotion and being able to express to the audience is very hard. I genuinely thought, acting was like dancing, crocheting or writing lyrics but its not. It’s so different, you actually need to practice it thoroughly. I wouldn’t say i hate acting or i wouldn’t do it again, but the experience i had wasn’t the greatest start. It was fun tho, i didn’t have to be someone else and i think i became more confident in being vulnerable with my emotions. I might have a go again in the future, who knows!
If you happen to continue, i will say good luck!! As you experience life, you get to see the beauty of it and appreciate the effort these actors put. Very humbling and gives a whole new perspective... so i completely get you. I hope with your experience you will keep going:)) ❤

Please don't give up, even if you feel like this showed you that acting isn't for you. cause it takes time to get used to new things and so many people have already said that you need to go through 100 rejections to find the 1 acceptance. So believe in your talent and the fact that what is for you will always find you along your way! (btw could you maybe tell me how & where did you got the information about the audition? cause it always seems like you need an agent or special payed sites to get the audition informations, contacts etc.)

Even though you may have not gotten the chance to be in such a huge show like Xo kitty, you shouldn't give up! I think you should try building your confidence through maybe auditioning for small shows or movies with small roles and work your way from there.

I’m also an actor and the fact that you even got to audition for a show like this is HUGE! You are correct when you say acting is harder than it looks. People hone their skills for years and you’re always learning something new. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there again. Most of the time these casting agents choose people with a lot of experience. If this something you’re truly passionate about, don’t give up. Join some acting classes online or in person and keep honing your craft. Your opportunity will find you one day.

I also want to be a actor one day although I still need professional acting tips etc. also I don’t think you should quit easily. To be able to be an actor, you will have losses for job opportunities etc.
Hi… I’d say not to beat yourself up. . I don’t know where you applied for the role. The fact that you get to audition for Netflix is a huge win. Typically this type of role only goes through an agency, meaning you have representation. If you’re booked with a 10% rate, it’s outstanding already. So what it means, people don’t usually book. I know someone who did over 200 auditions and booked less than 20 gigs. That’s impressive. So If you really want to be an actor, I’d suggest taking acting classes continuously. If you hear some successful stories of brand new actors who landed a role the first time, it’s a special case. Acting journey is a marathon, not a splint. Break a leg.
