  • ‘A Guided Tour of Carrowbehy Living Bog’ explores the history and evolution of Carowbehy Bog, which is in Gorthaganny near Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. The video highlights the work undertaken to conserve the bog, community involvement in the bog, the value of the bog for climate change mitigation and the importance of the bog for biodiversity.
    The project was funded by the Roscommon County Council Creative Ireland Programme and the National Parks and Wildlife Service of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. It was produced for Roscommon County Council, as an action of the County Roscommon Heritage Plan 2017-2021, on an equal partnership basis with the National Parks & Wildlife Service of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in association with Gorthaganny Community Development.
    This video was premiered on Roscommon County Council Facebook for National Biodiversity Week 2022.
