This mall was the best as a kid in the 90's. You had a movie theater, right across from the movie theater was a big comic shop, right next to that was a giant arcade, right next to that was an EB games, and a few doors down was a music store. A little further down in the mall was a Discovery Zone.
you are from my era of hudson mall. i used to shop and hang out in the music store, arcade, watch movies in the theatre, and ride the little ries in the middle .
I've had fun memories visiting Hudson Mall during field trips with my local YMCA to Discovery Zone in the early & mid 90s. Me & my brothers had a blast going to the movies & playing at the arcade. It was a smaller but fun alternative to Newport Mall located on the other side of Jersey City. Good Times.
I grew up going to that mall to hang out in the 80s and 90s. It used to have a movie theater, huge arcade, eb games, etc. That whole area was booming during Christmas in those days. There was also a Bradlees next to that mall and a Toys R US on the South end. Throughout the years, that mall was slowly dying. It only got worse when Newport Mall opened in downtown because the people on the Westside of JC could take a bus (now the light rail) to go there instead of Hudson. I'm surprised it took this long for that mall to be demolished.

Also, a convenience store, Stuart's womens clothing; Petite Sophisticate; Ponderosa Steak House; Donut King. Going wayyyy back outside was a huge Two Guys that had absolutely everything. When they went out of buisness they broke it up into: Consumers, a dentist office, an eye doctor, Bradlees, a shop that sold discount items, La Pizza, and Shop Rite. Eventually they all went out of buisness too and they knocked everything down. On the other end of the parking lot was a free-standing Toys R Us. All the kids got their toys at either Two Guys or Toys R Us. And across the highway was Garfield Dinettes and Grandma's Pancake House. So sad everything is gone now. As you walked down the mall I was seeing each store where they used to be. Wow now I'm throughly depressed lol.

This mall was what i grew up going to. The Regal Cinema movie theater, Good Times Arcade, Heros & Villans comic book shop, Shout! Clothing store, Pinocchio's Pizzeria, and can't forget Wow Records. OMG! I was just there today and I literally broke down into tears! Hudson Mall was the got to place for many of us that lived around the area. I think I might have gone inside that place three times when I lived in Jersey City. The Taco Bell, an outparcel, was about the extent of my patronizing that property. It was SO ghetto and I didn't feel safe in there. Just not a good location for a mall anyway given several better malls not too far away, should have been a more mundane shopping center with more boring stores and no interior corridors. Me too. 1970s and Pants Place was my store for my high school wardrobe.
I used to go there when I would visit my family in Jersey City
This mall may very well house the last vintage Bath & Body Works in New Jersey
You're probably right about that
Worked there many many years ago
i remember 2 guys, great eastern, drive in theater, in the early 70s.i took my written and road test in Roosevelt stadium.i saw this mall built, and now it will be gone ahahaaahaa im showing my age.
me too
Yes movie theater
My dad hangs at this mall everyday
I don’t get why that property isn’t being demolished and replaced with highrise buildings like neighboring properties. It’s very strange to see it left as a dilapidated strip mall that’s in a flood zone, billion dollar highrise developments all around it.
I bet condos are going to replace the mall
That Mall ain't go nothing but Shoe Stores now.. and a few places to eat.. I go there for the Buffet that's it
It's really not much of a mall anymore
@@RayOutThere I know.. I remember the Arcade back in the 80s Against All Odds clothing store the C.D music store which was right next to the Arcade.. I'm very surprised Hudson Mall didn't close down yet
Listen it went downhill once they took out the arcade
It's simple. You want stores to move in! Lower the rent. I remember TWO GUYS. Why did they close down? Maybe Malls are a thing of the past.
Figures it would have had a gnat infestation. Good riddance. Looks like even the most unsavory characters have abandoned that place.
the neon was a movie theaatre. in front of it was an arcade center, and good fortune has been in that mall since i as a child in like 1998 or something. I dont know how they are still open and making moey ';/ they are usually empty.
