Between this video in the podcast, I got to hear your voice a bunch! Ha ha. It was a pleasure. I look forward to speaking again in the future, Dean. Thanks so much for showing me your equipment and barbells.
I really enjoyed talking with him last year, and I knew I wanted to hang out this year! He greatly helped the Grip strength competition as well. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It really helps the channel!
Thank you!! As a small manufacturer it is hard to promote and keep up with demand.. but the customers that find us are always happy with their purchases. Thanks again for the feedback it means alot
Yeah, that green last year was killer! I like the purple a lot, but once Dean pointed out that the purple came from the belly of the spider, it made it even better. As always, thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Ordered the VHS bar as my first piece of Black Widow equipment, super excited for it! Been eyeballing the spotter arms so those are soon to follow. Great interview, Rob!
I forgot to ask him to tell the story of his powder coat (he’s told me off camera). Basically, he taught himself by trial and error how to powder coat and to what level of grit. Now, his super powder coat is noticeable his. If you put two powder coated bars in front of me, I’d probably be able to figure out which one came from Black Widow. It’s more aggressive grit than a typical powder coat but not so much it’d be abrasive to your hands. Very nice!
Dean’s stuff is top notch. That 1.9” diameter with the knurling 😮💨 Hard to beat. Do yourself a favor and go check out all his specialty bars!!! But all his products are very well made, I’ve got plenty of them.
My near term purchases are bars from BWTG, but I’ve been thinking through dumbbell storage on the far side of my gym and may eventually reach out about a custom storage solution. We’ll see. Some serious saving effort needs to happen before that one!
I definitely like those low profile spotter arms, I think they are little cheaper than the Surplus Strength spotter arms. I also like the black widow crazy train cambered bar which I think I may purchase, and would definitely help with saving my beat up shoulders from benching really heavy back in the day! It's really beneficial to see these products on a You Tube review and not just from their website, so I can actually gauge the actual size of everything up close.
Thanks so much for watching! I should’ve bought a bar at HGC but couldn’t decide which I needed/wanted most. I think I’m going to buy either the camber or the front squat. I really like the quality as well as the thought that is put into each piece of equipment from Black Widow. I appreciate the comment. It really helps the channel!
I've heard of Black Widow Training Gear several years ago. Always positive comments. I recently was in search of dip handles for my Legend half rack. Legend has a solid dip attachment but using it on a half rack would be awkward. On a hunch I checked out Black Widow Training Gear and found exactly what I was looking for in a dip attachment for a half rack. These handles allow dips in the middle of the rack, which I believe is optimal for a half rack. Ordered them about a week ago, finally found what I was looking for, super excited to be getting them.
@@stevesorensen9648good call! I have the same dip handles and they work very well. Another thing you can do with them is a body weight row variation, which I really enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by Rob! Love hearing my voice 😂.
Who woulda thought 😂

You both have solid voices
Dean of black widow is sooo underrated, been buying his products for years

Love the customization. Purple and black is awesome. The OD green killed it last year also.

Thanks so much! I’m really interested in the VHS bar. I’ll look forward to seeing what you think of it.
Powder coating on the bars look great and will hold up for years unlike my rusty EZ curl bar in the basement.
