I’m a painter and I love it. I’ve obviously never painted a football field but spraying is super easy and you can make great money doing it. I can paint a decent sized house in a week and pocket like $3k working like 25hours
Dude was like we had to figure out where to put the stencil. Nah bruh they told you where it goes. 5 yards in centered on the 25 the middle of the stencil will be marked just square it and you’re good to go.
You do realize there’s more to it than you think right? That’s why painting is a paid profession, if it was so easy there wouldn’t be schools for this typa stuff.

The former groundskeeper and consultant for every S/B and the NFL stated that the field was not maintained properly prior to the S/B and it was watered the morning of and wasn't allowed to dry out before being rolled into the stadium. That was the reason for the slip and slides. The NFL field director ignored his advice.
Why dont you blame to the NFL?, they're contractors, if they hired you, you go... is the league who has to decide whats the best for the game/players, not the painters responsability

The NFLs head field guy for superbowls basically said the field wasn't properly dried off after being sprayed and sanded so it developed a misty film that made the sand into mud. He officially quit his job after this SB at 96 because he refuses to work for an NFL that apparently refused to listen to him about prepping the field. All they had to do was roll the field outside for 2 days before the event and it would have been dried off.

They left the grass outside of the stadium overnight and the grass had moisture and they didn’t jet dry the field bc no body was expecting the moisture in the desert if they knew that head if time they could’ve borrowed the jet dryers from the international raceway a few miles down

I’m not an expert, but I belive this is an special paint that in’t permanent and also doesn’t required for the paiters to use respirators, I used to paint lines at soccer stadiums and that type of paint is harmless, to mask required

Hehe in artificial turf that is a massive job to replace, seam, and anchor down the high quality turf. In real turf systems the grass is going to be green, grow, and be mowed between games.

I’ve been down on the field when they’re painting for the SB (NE v Carolina) and I can say the level of attention to detail used is insane. Huge props to these guys/gals. It’s a ton of work
