- Norfolk Southern 361 Southbound manifest comes around the curve at CP Lowe on track 2 and before they get to the crossing Amtrak Crescent #20 comes flying by them on track 1. Sorry about the talking in the video, some guy walked up just as I was about to record this and wouldn't shut up during the video!!!
It's kinda funny if you listen to what he says, the guy was a total idiot and had no clue what he was talking about!

@benschlechter Yes it was the 'Southern Crescent' until the late 1970's, and I believe it was if not the last passenger trains that Amtrak took over.

Two suggestions:
1 Use a remote microphone separate from the camera and placed in front at a distance.
2 Don't shoot at railroad crossings. Walk in a bit where you can be alone.

Great video! What an awesome overtaking! Side by side! Great horn battle too! As for that person. Its pretty simple, your by the tracks, there's a train coming and your filming. Obviously your a railfan. Then he asks you what your doing. Your busy and trying to get a good shot and he bothers you and you were nice enough to even talk to him. Then he gets mad and calls you a mofo. That is very disrespectful. That dude is an idiot. Next time he talks like that he'll probably get a fist to the face.

Great catch, with the Ex-Conrail and Ex N&W. Guy didn't really seem to have a clue about what he was talking about. If he was up there everyday, how was he not a "Train Fanatic"? Anyways bud, great catch, awesome videos, and defenitly subbed!

OMG! A CSX SD60M and my fav CSX unit were paired together stopped on the Pan Am Worcester Main in Massachusetts, and it was departing, right when it was blowing for the crossing, some lady is like "Whatta ya doing!". I was about to go nuts, I was waiting for 2hrs in 10 degree weather for that thing and she wrecked it. But yet the line is 10mph so I just caught up with it later.

Funny thing is last night I was out there behind Barnes Hardware recording and 173 was waiting for 172 to pass them, when 172 came around the curve the crewman for 173 was at the crossing, told that guy to stop, but instead he ran right in front of 172 by about 15 feet!!!

Awesome video other than that damn airhead that was running his damn mouth. He needs to shut up and mind his own damn business. If you want to video trains I think you should have the right to do so without interference. When I worked for CSX Transportation from 2014-2020 I had no problem with railfans. Hell I was friends with most of them. A rail fan would definitely be a big help if an airline separated or a knuckle broke and we needed a hand with a ride. Awesome video! Thanks for sharing! I can tell you if I ever go back to a land based job, I’m definitely going back to the railroad. Probably Norfolk Southern, Florida East Coast, or BNSF Railway this time around. That P-5 is one of my favorite horns! Classic Southern Railway and Norfolk Southern!
Some folks are just nosy and talkative but they see you recording and then proceed to intersperse profanity laced language (probably unknowingly) as they converse.
That guy was a 100% bonafide idiot. Had no idea what he was talking about. Only thing he did was mess up my video with his idiocracy.
@RailfanDaniel I saw him today (6-10-2010) I was on the platform this time, and he had a broken arm tonight! Didn't come over to me, he thought about it, then turned around and walked off. Yea he talks in the video about jumping in one of the open boxcars...maybe he tried! LOL!
