Quite honestly it's just your preference. But in the little amount of time I've used both, water is just so much easier and less messy than oil based. But for you, it would probably be best to try a small bottle of each and see what you like.
It’s just water and dye - no secret ingredients! Having moist leather helps me with consistency, but you have to keep the dye moving to get an even coat 👍🏻

Great video, always nice to watch how the professionals do it .I use oil based dyes ,are the water based ones as good ?

What was the substance you poured into your dye? You got a much more even colour than I get. Have I been doing it wrong all this time haha
