Everything looks beautiful, Catherine:)!! Love the beautiful pink and rose gold with which you're decorating ~ exquisite!! Like you, we'll plan to decorate earlier than usual. It's true, twinkle lights make everything cozier and more cheerful, exactly what we need! Thanks so much for sharing ~ loved being with you:)!!!
I’m a 77 year old Texas grandmother and I am in the midst of putting up my three Christmas trees. I’m also putting out all my decorations. If there was ever a year to surround yourself with everything that makes you happy this is it! This has also been the ideal week to have a days long project to keep me entertained instead of sitting in front of the tv watching the craziness of our Presidential election!
Same here in the Rockies, Judy Owen! Making our homes beautiful is so much better for the soul than watching our politics play out. Why feed ourselves with the crazy when we can create beauty and peace in our homes? Enjoy your projects and stay well!
I’m 75 and 2020 has been a terrible year with cancer surgery, chemo, hospitalization and finally recovery! I’m feeling great and three trees are going up including my mother’s tree from 1977. I’ve had it in the kitchen for 42 Christmases now and treasure it! Life is good! Yay for twinkly lights, candles and glitter🎄🎄🎄Agree with you completely, Judy.🇺🇸🎄🇺🇸
My eldest son (who's now nearly 41now) has a birthday on 14 December, although he no longer lives at home, that used to my traditional date for decorating the home. However, my birthday is 19 November, so that is going to be my new decoration date. 2020 has been so sh**** for everyone, so why not. I love your decorations.
Catherine your trees look so lovely 😊 I think many of us will decorate our houses a bit earlier this year , we all need a bit of uplifting, lovely video thank you
Your decorations look beautiful. I wait until the beginning of December. So sorry you can’t go on your excursion with your friend as usual. I love tradition. When my husband had a different job (in the U.S. ) we always went shopping the day after Christmas and had lunch out. Still can if it is on a weekend. But since he changed jobs about 6 years ago, he can’t do that when it is during the week. I miss that. I get what it means to you. No lockdown here in Pennsylvania. I’m glad. I’m always careful when I do go out, which is rare. Thank you for sharing this and your infectious upbeat attitude.
I haven't put up a tree in probably 10 years (grown kids, holidays at their houses, etc). But THIS year....it's going up baby! And it's going up this weekend. The neighbors will think I've lost my mind but I might start a trend!
Don't worry about the neighbors! Here in the US I noticed people already putting up outdoor lights. I think we are all trying to "will" our way through the winter to a time where life isn't so challenging. I started decorating today...enjoy every minute of whatever cheer you can create!
Go for it lol, some do it as early as after halloween lol. I think I did that last year. Wishing you a Merry Christmas this coming xmas🎄❤. Have fun decorating and go mad :D! If you like flowers try forcing bulbs or pick up my personal favorite a "xmas" cactus if you don't have one :3. I love flowers during winter and inspired by my Swedish heritage to incorporate them x3❤.
I have lights up year round on one of my french doors in our front room. They aren't always on. Some times it is comforting and beautiful to have a cup of tea and a good book and the lights. I have some up outside in a front area to welcome people and I turn them on when it is raining and I want to sit outside, or if it is some sort of holiday like Easter or Thanksgiving, birthdays, really any time I want. I love all the twinkle lights. Makes life feel special.

Beautiful. I love Christmas mostly because we celebrate the birth of Christ, our Lord and savior. I decorate inside and out. I have two trees but I have not use my small tree for four years. I don’t have room to it up because my husband and I are taking care of his mother after she had a stroke in 2016. Her recliner is in the space I use for my small tree. I thought school for 34 years and the children gave me ornaments almost every Christmas. Some they made themselves, some their parent bought. I treasure every one. Some them they make in my classroom. We always made an ornament every year in each grade level ( K through 5). I away made a sample for each level and demonstrated the process. I thought 5 years in our Church school after I retired from pubic school. Christmas has always been one of my favorite time of the year. I love your color scheme. My is white with silver and gold and clear glass. I use white lights. We used blue light this year out side. My grand daughter made me a Nativity wreath for my door. The top was blue mesh and the bottom was the color of sand mesh. She added fairy lights to represent the stars at the top and the Nativity was very roughly carved from soft wood the color of the sand. In the middle she hung the most 🌟. Needless to say it was beautiful. I love the way you decorate so that in every room it blends with your whole house. As I have said before you are so talented. Ann from Va. 🇺🇸
I'm from Canada...and I'm decorating early for sure!!! Pretty lights, Christmas music...it's all yummy! We need as much yummy as possible! And for presents, I'm actually going through some of my stuff and picking out things I want to use more, read more or play more. Then I am wrapping those items up for myself! I have things like books, art supplies, and puzzles.
So fun!!! I'm still in a mess of living room makeover. Lol. My sofa comes next week so I'll be able to put the house back together. Then I'll start decking the halls. But not a tree....not yet. I always get a real tree (and stress over cutting down a tree to just decorate and then throw out...thinking I'll get one I can replant. I at least have it turned into mulch). I grew up putting it up Christmas eve or a week before and leaving it up until jan 6......or march depending on my mother's motivation and the state of the tree 🤣🤣🤣. But I think I'll get one up dec 1. I can keep it alive until the 6th! I might get bouji and put one in my bedroom too!!! So posh. Lol. I love your spirit!!!
I love the hint of purple on the bedroom tree. My face color lol I said we need a 2nd tree because I want a nice decor tree because the one we have is all our meaningful ornaments from when I was even little and ones for the kids etc. Live that we got our white tree last year. We always had a green one but I dunno. Something about this one. Love the mantel decor too. Another reason I love it in Ireland.. the fireplace.😍🌲
Since last year I have been trying to replace my Christmas decorations as and when funds are available. I will be investing in some Nutcrackers as I absolutely love them, but due this year and things not moving as I had hoped, these will have to wait another year. Just finding my way on the things that I love and building on that. Absolutely love your trees 🎄and decor 🎄
I really need you to come to Spokane, WA USA and decorate my home! I love how cozy and warm your home looks!! Your everyday and Christmas decorations is exactly what I have wanted but can not seem to achieve. Beautiful
Go for it! Some leave outside lights all year. Hide the tree legs with gold or silver mesh. I got mine from a fabric store, it's a 60" width. Then find ntertwine with tiny lights. Lockdown? Online shopping. Your home is always beautifully decorated. Cozy. Break the depression and decorate for Christmas now.
I've never put my tree up until 1st December. Ever. I announced the other day that the tree will be up this weekend without fail. I need the twinkling lights. First Christmas since my brother and friend passed. Hate being back in lockdown going into the dark days too. Jaysus, we need the twinkling lights surely. Plus most of the people who are still working won't get to take their walk until the dark. We can light their way as they walk around. For a tree skirt, I grabbed a cream lined curtain with satin fleur de lys design all over it - I had torn bits of the bottom for headboard previously. It was still plenty long. I wrapped it around the tree base and pinned red tinsel around the edge. The seam was facing the wall. Everyone that came into our house last year admired our "stunning tree skirt". Cost me nothing but looked luxury.
My tree is going up after Remembrance Sunday as it goes in my front window. This year the village are all putting poppies in the windows so it wouldn't be respectful until after. I'm all for the lights and glitter this year Catherine! xxx
My tree was up on the 2nd of November this year. We're in Summer season over Christmas. We don't have Thanksgiving or Halloween in South Africa so... Christmas is huge in my house.
I just love how you decorated your Christmas trees! The color you chose, Dusty rose (Mauve), was my wedding colors 27 years ago, and it’s still my favorite color... I’m bringing out all my storage bins from my garage, many years I have collected or was given Christmas decorations and a few new I buy right after Christmas when every holiday decoration is on sale.. I hand made a Christmas table cover, so I decorate my dining table even my kitchen is so festive! Over my fireplace and outside with lots of pretty lights! Pretty much every room in my house and my husband puts up the tree, we have a tall fake tree, we have tall ceilings! I would love to do this especially for my husband, my sweet husband survived cancer this year, just recently and he’s still healing from his surgery. We need a happy and pretty looking house right now. It’s just us two and our sweet cats, Angel and Dusty. We’re in California and we’re finally getting much cooler weather and some rain. My sister in law lives a few houses down by the beach, two hours West of my city, it’s just her living at her home, we’re going to spend a few days with her and go to the shops in her town and eat some good local food. My mom lives in the Los Angeles area, I’m going to surprise her and buy her a small Christmas tree and decorations. My mom is 78 and has a beautiful older house, she still climbs a tall ladder to pick Avocados from her big tree, she’s not afraid, it scares me and I’m not there! Lol Thank you for the inspiration to get me started, I too need a pretty Christmas pick me up to help me to feel cheery inside from this long unfortunate year. We have to keep positive that 2021 will be better for all of us! I say my prayers and made my wishes on my birthday over a week ago. It wasn’t such a fun birthday this year, but it’s ok, I wanted my husband to get through his surgery and healing. Take care! And btw, you have such a beautiful home! 💖😁
I had a tree like that once an I bought some dark red chiffon and wove it deep into the branches near the trunk. It ended up being the most beautiful tree ever. One year I even used a gold chiffon. Both of your trees are beautiful.
I always get a live tree and they are not available anywhere yet and would last if they were. But, I actually ordered an artificial one for my bed room this morning. Can't wait to decorate it. The one I put up in my living room I LOVE and it has ornaments that are almost 100 years old on it every year but as much as I love it a small part of me always want to try something new. So the one in my bedroom is my chance to experiment and I can't wait till it arrives on Thursday!
I think a tree skirt will invite Blondie for a nap so yes you need to make a box to go around the bottom of the trees. I made mine out of old cabinet doors ~ you only need 3 as the box needs to slip around the base. Measure your base clearance. I used 2x4s or you could use 2x2s as corner braces. I screwed mind as then you can take apart and lay flat for storage. This would be an easy task for you as you are so handy with power tools. TFS your decorating.
I always put my Xmas tree up early, in fact it is already up. I have so many decorations, several hundred i think, that I have collected over the years at post Xmas sales that it takes over a day to just decorate my large Xmas tree. The poor thing is struggling under the weight of all the decorations. This year a good friend helped and it was so much fun, we drank bubbly and played Xmas music while we decorated. I also want to enjoy the ambiance of it all for many weeks not just a few. So good on you for putting yours up, there are no rules to follow with this I MO
Catherine, you look prettier than ever in your fire light and twinkly decorations. You’ve inspired me, again, to make the best of any situation. You are always sweetly positive you set me a good example. I’ll be moving in to my new apartment next week and I am going to put up my tree as soon as I can! Stay well! Keep busy but take plenty of time in front of the fire.
DD: I think we ALL need to surround ourselves with positive vibes at this time. CoronaVirus cannot dictate every aspect of our lives...so we have to DO whatever we can to push forward and make the BEST of our time in lockdown. Here in Washington State-USA we have been in "lockdown" since Feb... and still counting. I am currently making Christmas gifts for all my family & friends...since I've got LOTS of time on my hands. It brings me great joy and keeps me busy...I am grateful & blessed. LOVE your decor! Stay safe & keep your attitude cheery...as always! TFS:D
I completely agree with you putting up your Christmas trees and decorations early! And not just due to Covid! I love Christmas decorations and I make loads of them and they bring me great joy. But it's a lot of work to just have it all up for two weeks. So, here in the states, anyone who knows me knows that my home is decorated BEFORE Thanksgiving! Does no harm to anyone, brings me great joy and I love it! Your home looks so warm and cozy and I almost envy you the rain because we hardly ever get rain. Thank you for getting this done for us. I just wondered if you will be participating in a Christmas Craft fair this year? Have you been making your bears, etc?
We will put stuff up the day after Thanksgiving. We have been married for 53 years and we have soooo many ornaments plus all the other stuff. It hopefully will be a good Christmas this year as we need to feel the goodness that Christmas brings along with the true meaning of 🎄 Christmas.
I forgot to say (lol) I am in the US and I am definitely going to do mine early. Usually wait till Thanksgiving as you said but the “cheer” is much needed this year. Thank you again!
Hi from Cape town south Africa going to decorate and create this year more than usual .there has been enough challenges this year so time to relax and have a happy time
I like to have my fall / harvest decorations out until Thanksgiving / end of November, but I love your decor, it's so girly, sophisticated, and cozy at the same time.
If I had such a beautiful tree in my bedroom, I think I'd be going to bed around 8:00 every night so I could enjoy it. I am sorry about everything being closed and your 5K restrictions. My son in Dublin works at a bank in the Docklands and is considered an "essential" worker, so he has been able to get out to go to work. Things are definitely going to be a bit different this year for Christmas. He usually comes home to California to see us for the holiday, but sadly, not in 2020. I hope you will be able to see your friends and family!
Living in America, I usually wait until after Thanksgiving. NOT THIS YEAR! I am starting this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration. The live tree will wait but everything else goes up.
Your trees and decorations look absolutely stunning. Your living room looks oh so cosy with the open fire, but Catherine where is your fire guard? Stay safe.

Sorted my decorations out today, need something to Brighton up the day, your decorations and trees look fabulous, stay safe, hugs💜😻💞
Thanks Catherine, you are lighting up our lives with your cheerfulness, fun and good humour. You are looking gorgeous as always.
Aw, thank you Margaret x
I would love you to do a tree skirt DIY!
I love the hint of purple on the bedroom tree. My face color lol
I said we need a 2nd tree because I want a nice decor tree because the one we have is all our meaningful ornaments from when I was even little and ones for the kids etc. Live that we got our white tree last year. We always had a green one but I dunno. Something about this one.
Love the mantel decor too. Another reason I love it in Ireland.. the fireplace.😍🌲
Thanks Aimey, x Yes, my mams tree is still full of all our diy Christmas ornaments x
@@DaintyDiaries love them. Plus makes it so my kids have ornaments when get older and move out lol
So pretty . I can’t wait to put my Christmas decs up ❤️❤️❤️
Everything looks fantastic! We’ll start later in the month, to the beginning of Dec
Earlier sounds perfect 🥰
I put all my Christmas 🎄 decorations up October 1, it made me happy 😃 I’m still happy looking at it
I've never put my tree up until 1st December.
That is so sweet, light their path! I love it, I hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks for watching x
My tree is going up after Remembrance Sunday as it goes in my front window. This year the village are all putting poppies in the windows so it wouldn't be respectful until after. I'm all for the lights and glitter this year Catherine! xxx
I am surprised you haven't DYI a flock look. I like that you have extra time to enjoy the Christmas season.
My tree went up on November 1. Maybe to early for some but I needed it
This is great. I'm so excited this is the content I need. We all need a sparkle. Thanks so much❤️❤️❤️
YAY, happy to hear that! X
You look so lovely in that red lipstick, Catherine! I hope you get much joy from your beautiful decorations! 💗
Thank you Alyssa, I hope you are well xxxx
Christmas is the best! We usually put up our tree the Fri or Sat after Thanksgiving.
I'm in East Tennessee,USA & mine went up starting November 1st. Like you said the twinkling lights, they really make things brighter inside. 🌻
Thank you Janet, best of luck with the apartment move x
its makes me feel happy so its going up when ever i am ready
DD: I think we ALL need to surround ourselves with positive vibes at this time. CoronaVirus cannot dictate every aspect of our lives...so we have to DO whatever we can to push forward and make the BEST of our time in lockdown. Here in Washington State-USA we have been in "lockdown" since Feb... and still counting. I am currently making Christmas gifts for all my family & friends...since I've got LOTS of time on my hands. It brings me great joy and keeps me busy...I am grateful & blessed. LOVE your decor! Stay safe & keep your attitude cheery...as always! TFS:D
That is so sweet that you are making Christmas gifts for your friends and family x
Your living room is absolutely gorgeous. It made me smile to see the Christmas tree up and twinkling.
Yep, putting my tree up early, we need lots of joy after all the lockdown restrictions here in Melbourne, Australia
Happy to hear your restrictions have eased in Australia x
I so look forward to your uploads. Puts a smile on my face at each notification. Your attitude, whit & decorating talent is so appreciated always.
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that sweetheart x
I forgot to say (lol) I am in the US and I am definitely going to do mine early. Usually wait till Thanksgiving as you said but the “cheer” is much needed this year. Thank you again!
“And Blondie judged me”.🤣🤣🤣 I needed this today Catherine, thank you.🙏🏻😊❤️
Definitely working on Christmas decorations this weekend 😁. We got to have something beautiful to appreciate.....

Definitely putting the tree up early 🎄. We need a little extra cheer this year 💗
Catherine your home looks beautifully festive and cosey. You are an inspiration. :)
Thank you so much Caroline!
I like to have my fall / harvest decorations out until Thanksgiving / end of November, but I love your decor, it's so girly, sophisticated, and cozy at the same time.
I've my trees up aswell. Dear God we need something to cheer ourselves up. Your home is beautiful with the tree lit and the fire going. XxXxX
Im sorry to hear that he won't make it home this year for Christmas xxx
I want to sit and twinkle, too⭐️⭐️ Your home is simply everything!!!
The tree is going to be there, we indeed need a little twinkle, Catherine. Thanks for your sweet video ;>*
For the gaps in my sisters tree , she wrapped garlands around the stem . It looked lovely. Your trees are festive and nice. I love your fireplace. 🧚🏾🎄
Catherine!🌷
Tua casa está linda ... parecendo casinha de conto de fada ! 🏡🧚♀️🏡🧚♀️
Putting up the 🎄 earlier this year, as decluttered sitting room earlier in the year, so room for the Christmas 🎄 😄
Love it, I love a good declutter x
Living in America, I usually wait until after Thanksgiving. NOT THIS YEAR! I am starting this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration. The live tree will wait but everything else goes up.
Have fun decorating this weekend Stephanie x
Love your pretty holiday decor! Definitely inspired me to start early on Christmas decorating. 🎄
Christmas came early at my house, right after Halloween. I figured what would it hurt? A little happy Xmas house 🎄 🏡 🎄
Love love love!! Please do a tree skirt tutorial! You are such a positive ray of sunshine♥
Twinkle lights fix everything.. you're amazing
