The Smuggler is perfection. The downtube lines up with the seatstay as well the bottom bracket to the chainstays. Hands down the best looking bike to date.
One of the thing to mention in these videos is that specialized and Santa Cruz have done a spectacular job in making a cockpit for everyone. Both companies offer xxl sizing and generous reach / stack . Pivot & Ibis are notorious for tight fitting bikes. That’s a huge strike against both companies imo. Giving you the perspective of the Clydesdale .
Alright I am copying it and posting it here so there are no editing after it happens! Thank you for participating!! 1. WAO Arrival 2. Smuggler 3. Hightower 4. Switchblade 5. Ripmo 6. SCOR 4060
My honest opinion is that it is too heavy and not spec'd nice enough for the price they are charging for it. I built this smuggler up from the frame for myself and I wanted it to be with all my favorite stuff so that's why mine was carbon. But for all the other reviewers that get them for free from Transition, I am assuming they want to give them the best bike they make so they have the highest opinion of it.
Really appreciate your work here. Thanks for posting. I love that Arrival and was also looking at the Revel Rail. Those two are really nice. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work. 👍
@@dialedmtb Yep, the Rail 29. I've heard good things, although it leans more towards "all Mountain" then Enduro. That would be perfect for me and my trails.
Yeah I would highly consider the Arrival over those two. I actually might have a chance to ride the Rail 29 this weekend but I am assuming I will want it to feel and ride more like the Arrival haha
1. WR1 2. Smuggler 3. Switchblade 4. Hightower 5. Ripmo 6. Score 4060 I’ve found the Score 4060 the best out of those bunch for me. Haven’t got on the WR1 yet though. Thanks for the series

I do for sure, but some of them did not seem as big of a deal to talk about. I would say the SCOR 4060 would actually benefit from a few mm longer chain stay. The others felt pretty balanced overall so I did not talk about it. So much stuff to talk about in these videos and I didn't want each video to be even longer then they already are.
I've been following your series and it seems every review makes me add a bike to my growing list of what next bike I want. What is your general riding style? Are you more of a big jumper or fast flowy kind of guy? Do you prefer smooth or chunky trails. I hear you talk about climbs but are they embraced or only a means to get to the downhill?
Haha well that shouldn't be a bad thing! There are so many good bikes out there! But I prefer some chunkier terrain but we don't have much of that where I live. Flow trails are always fun for me as well. Not a big jump type of rider due to some previous motocross injuries, so I try to stay on the ground for the most part. Climbing is okay, but I definitely have my fun on the descents.
@@dialedmtb I appreciate the hasty response. It's always best to understand the reviewer's style when comparing bikes. Everyone thinks the best bike for them may be the best for everyone. But, our riding styles may dictate differently. Also, as we age our styles change. For me, gone are the days of taking risks to be the fastest possible. I am more about finding the fun and the workout of the ride.
Yeah definitely! I do try my best to explain what each bike is doing in a good and bad way so that people can decide if that would fit their style or not. Then I give my preference, which I try to make sure people know that it is my personal opinion. I just try to be as honest as possible since some reviews out there are paid for and might not be the 100% honest truth.
Transition makes some nice looking bikes and I own a new patrol but IMO they're WAY overpriced for a standard 4 bar suspension. With most other big brands your paying for a weagle, VPP or in house designed suspension and I can get the same 4 bar Transition uses from any of the direct to consumer brands like YT for 1/2 the price. Just something to consider.
Dang! That is a long time to get it figured out! I have pretty good starting setting for basically any suspension that comes on these bikes which helps a ton. Also just riding a lot of bikes helps too I guess! lol
@@dialedmtb thank for the series. I gotta agree with dabinche....It takes me about 8-10 ride to figure out and gel with a bike and to get suspension, seat height/angle, and tires set up
Yeah, fair enough! Like I said I have a good idea of almost all the Forks/Shocks out there so I can get it close quick, and I almost always change it 1 or 2 times during my first ride to see the traits of the bike on each side of the spectrum then I narrow it down from there on ride 2, and ride 3 it should be at least 95% setup for me.

The new Ibis HD6 is sweet looking too but a full on Enduro. $$$$$$$
The smuggler does look super good! All new Transitions have a great look!

Yeah that’s is something for sure to mention. The brands that make 5 or 6 sizes and make proper bikes for both short and tall is a big plus for sure!
My July Madness bracket:
1. We are one arrival
2. Smuggler
3. Hightower
4. Switchblade

Why is no one covering the alloy smuggler?

Yeah I 100% think that the Transitions are overpriced. I really hope they lower the prices this winter!
If the Smuggler loses we RIOT!!!! 😃
Hahahaha!! I guess I should be glad my channel can be thought as being able to start a riot! lol
@@dialedmtb haha! Insert “boy, that escalated quickly” gif
Hahah exactly!
Poppy is nothing more than lack of rebound or compression damping or both.
Have you rode these bikes?
three rides?? it takes me 4months to get a bike dialed in, two rides a week times 16 weeks is 32rides
