I just got my 32R and spent several hours trying to figure out how to connect router and get the UC Surface app up and running on my iPad and iPhone. This video was essential to get this done in just a couple minutes. Thanks so much for the clear and graphic explanation. I was connecting the ethernet cable in the wrong router port.
Is it possible to prevent other people from using the analog stick if they connect to the iPad? Is it possible to prevent it from working at all if they connect to the iPad?
Can you please add FOH (main mix) to Qmix UC for phones not just ipad. We self engineer onstage and its alot easier to access our phone than getting on ipad while on stage performing.
Richard, I was curious, is it better to have a router that is strictly used for this, or could you add the StudioLive Mixer to the existing Intranet set up at my church?
All of the connected devices have the same name. for example all iPhones say iPhone-iphone. Any way of changing the names or the 32sx recognizing each iPhone name?
Richard - great video and very informative. I own a Studio Live 24ai console but going to get a 24 rack mixer. What wireless router(s) do you recommend for the Studio Live 24 rack mixer?
hello Family... This is the only third-party router they recommend which i found in their forum site... TP-Link TL-WR1043ND www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/wifi-router/tl-wr1043nd/
Gigin Haokip so that router would supply the wireless signal to connect a tablet , or control remotely from a laptop? Does there need to be a wifi signal in house too or it creates its own signal? Probably a noob question sorry
Hey Richard, can you select two aux;s on QmIx-UC (ie aux 1 & 2 fo rone user and 3 & 4 for another user? We are using stereo IEM's and have these auxes linked.
Hello Richard, i just bought 32S for my church, how do i control wirelessly from my ipad ? Do i have to use wireless router ? I already connected my Macbook pro using ethernet from 32S and usb from 32S for DAW and i can control UC on my mac for FOH permission but how do I add my ipad to control 32S wirelessly ? Should i connect 32S to wireless router ? Thanks
the Mac is not meant to be used as a wireless router. You need to use a dedicated wireless router and connect the ethernet cable to the router into the "Control" port of the Presonus. Your iPad has to connect to the wireless network that you generate from the router.
@@rhythmdroid You stated that (WE) need to use a "Dedicated" wireless router for the 32S, but does this dedicated router need to be connected to the Internet for things to work properly, or will it function without internet connection ?
@@markbaumbusch2473 The wireless router does not need to connect to the internet. It's purpose is to be the bridge between your 32S and your iPad. The router connects to your 32S via ethernet cable and your iPad connects to the router's WiFi signal that it generates.
The whole point of doing it remote is for engenier to be able to walk around the front and listen to the live audience audio and adjust the mix but I dont see the point of using headphones while doing this 🤣🤣 but anyways I don't see a point for headphones. Is like putting a microphone in a drone. When u play back u will hear the buzzing sound of the blades 🤣🤣
Can you please please please either deny or confirm that the 16.0.2 USB can be set up this way using a laptop of the interface between the router and the USB on the console. Thanks!
Hello, I have a Studiolive with its control port hooked up to my PC via Cat5E cable. I am not able to get my ipad to see the SL. Can we still get ipad UC to work if we do not have the SL hardwired to a router? Thank you in advance!
@@markbaumbusch2473 no, the best way is to use a cat 5 cable out of the mixer into the router, then just connect your tablets or phones to the router wirelessly and away you go.
Is there a control surface that can be used to control the Studiolive series III rack mixers through Universal Control in a live mixing application? For example, having a Studiolive 32r controlled through a laptop and connecting a control surface to move faders, knobs and such.
Why wouldn’t Presonus have the mixer create it’s own dedicated WiFi so you dont need a router. That seems like a huge oversight. Do you always need to use a WIFI router just to mix through another device?

Great job! Your videos has been the easiest to understand out of the many out there. I can easily go step by step…

No puedo conectar mi telefono android a la consola, o solo funciona con tablet ?
When can we expect UC Surface for Linux?
thank you for this video, excited to apply it

If you had a stereo monitor mix would you have to use "all auxes" and adjust each ear separately?

Can be two auxes (fe 5,6) linked to one stereo aux?

Presonus, when are we going to get some video demonstrations of The Atom

We have it connected as shown here. However, UC doesn't see the router or board

My iPhone shows up on q mix but iPad just won’t show up on if surface.. anyone knows why?? 😢😢😢😢
2nd request, for UC Surface App, I keep checking every day and for some reason it does not exist anymore.
Try online.
I saw the app online

maybe to make the unit cheaper and maintain its form factor. not everyone will use its wireless functions either.
