This is the Unity tutorial number sixteen of the series Special Effects for Games. In this lesson we see how to create a Path for any Particle System.
I basically give the most important procedure to create an effect that follows a path, give a few suggestions and leave the creative process to your imagination.

Please do a full fledged tutorial on making particles(& texturing them) in Photoshop.

Nice video! wanted to ask something, is there anyway to make the path follow the character? I mean, make that, if the character move's, the particles go to his position
Thanks for the good tutorial, but the title is misleading. In this tutorial you make the Particle EMITTER follow the path, not the particles.

Well that happens because, It's not "Mash" it's "Hash".

Anyone know if there is a way of making the thing loop, or for the waypoints to move with the player so the magic affect could spin round them and then shoot off (or would simple animation be better for that)

Awesome tutorial but the itween editor script you recommended to download is corrupted when I try to extract it from the .tar.
Let me just say this is an amazing video and it has helped me so much with my school project. I just have one small question because i am new to c# and itween. How can i loop the itween to play every few seconds? Thank you to whoever in advance :(
Well there's another way to make particles follow a path. It's with animations. You create an animation for an empty and attach your vfxs to that empty. But, you won't see a visual representation of a path.
Anyway, you can loop your vfx to follow that iTween path by creating an IEnumerator, you know a Coroutine, and then with a for loop you can instantiate your vfx every 2, 3, 4 seconds. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve, but that's one way.
Something like this (this is some pseudo code that I've written here):
IEnumerator LoopVFX (float loopingTime, float loopCount){
for (int i = 0; i< loopCount; i++){
//call the vfx to follow the Itween Path
yield return new WaitForSeconds (loopingTime);
}
}

the code didn't do errors for me but the particle don't move

If you ever need good effects or looks to your game, just look at your videos and you're done. You cover so many areas and uses of particles that nobody else cares about. Too much to see and I can't stop watching them all then making my own

Yes with an animation. Simply animate the vfx or parent the effect to an empty and animate the empty.
