I found the best use for that box. I put my M18 brad nailer standing up in one side and all the boxes of brads lined up on the other side.

Dude! If that works, that is genius!
I have both the Packout and the M18 Brad Nailer. I fully admit that I never thought to try, but I would have likely assumed it didn’t fit.
Gonna hafta give that a go! I’ve also got the 15 ga Nailer and 23ga Pin Nailer. Wonder if there’d be enough space to add one of those also? One way to find out.

Dude...that's how it starts. I made the mistake of buying a Milwaukee 1502 Fastback utility knife...then I saw a RUclips video on the 6 in one 1505 and bought that. I needed a pen light to carry in my Leatherman sheath and I bought the Milwaukee 2105. I ran into a great deal at a pawn shop for a 12v drill and impact driver with batteries and charger and figured I'd give it a try...now I have the 12v oscillating tool and hammer drill.
The thing is, is that I ALREADY have $2000.00 of DeWalt power tools that I use every day.
It's a trap...they suck you in with the pretty colors...and WHAM!

Im a Dewalt guy too and now own a few milwaukee packout boxes. Was contemplating on getting this box to put my DCS570 circular saw in because I like this system better than the Dwalt boxes. First I bought their cooler and the slim box that I use for fishing. I got the rolling box combo homedepot had on holiday sale as payment for a job for a day. I have a couple of the bigger compact boxes from buying the hole saws that came in them. So far really impressed with the milwaukee packout system. I did buy some of the Dewalt cases when home depot had their holiday sale to find out the old system doesn't work with the new. I'll still use the Dewalt cases but only around my house or small jobs. As for larger jobs I'm going with the packout. Great information mahalo for sharing.

I have a few Packout boxes and was going to buy one of these but found the large Packout box, which is almost the same size as two of these would be for the exact same price so got that.

That’s a very good point. I’m not sure why this thing costs so much. That’s definitely something that bugs me about Milwaukee.

Any idea if that tray might fit in the large tool box?
I know the interior dimensions aren't exact between the different sizes (medium, large, compact). But the medium box's organizer trays do fit in the large.

@@hammerandhomethere is a hack by a guy in Hawaii with a YT channel called SamaraiDIY or similar - he mounts a M12 charger to the underside of the lid with provisions to neatly wrap the power cord next to it also on the underside of the lid, then loads the box up with m12 tools and batteries. very slick.

As a person that has all systems (rigid tough system1,2 and packout) This system is the best on the market, but still not the best for everyone.
you'll still have the problem of stacking and unstacking to get to the bottom. The packout drawer didn't fix the problem totally. The drawer you can carry them around using the dolly but you can't get through rough surfaces with the dolly.
The Milwaukee handtruck makes it way bulkier. And the drawer, by being so big you end up putting to many tools in them and they get super heavy. (Try to carry them upstairs and you'll see). And let's not talk about the prices of this boxes.
So, for interior jobs and stuff like that, the tstack seems to work better for me.
    WHY?
    1. Everything is small
    2. Doesn't get to heavy
    3. Top handle to carry them upstairs if needed.
    4. The dolly is perfect, it works as a dolly and handtruck.
So, what works better for me is the packout drawer to keep them at shop at all times, the dewalt racking system with the boxes is The best for the shop... And the packout for any other job outside.

    • @hammerandhome
      @hammerandhome  2 года назад +1

that was my reasoning as well. when I first got into mobile storage, I went with t stak because of the size. lighter, cheaper, and easier to get around in residential jobs. i can also hold more of them in my trailer. I mostly us the packout system for my day to day tools. just two rolling systems, and the tstak for all of my specialty items and parts. thanks for sharing. cheers
