I have followed Jagjit singh Saheb for decades. He is anmol ratan. Mahendra kapoor had a distinguished very high voice and he was very difficult to copy.
Jagjit Singh made this song reach new heights with his symphony voice, undoubtedly after his departure, the ghazal singing has become empty.

It is very unfortunate that the ghazals, that are mainly poetry, do not get any recognition for the poet who creaqted it. The pseudo/neo-intellectuals & music lovers of today don't have a clue as to who wrote it. It is truly reflective of the culture where the answer to the question, "where does milk come from?" is, "from the supermarket in a plastic container.." So much for the modernity & progress of the people...

Mahendra Kapoor sahab did not get the popularity which he deserved, I feel so.Rafi Sahab was always projected as greater singer under Islamisation of Bollywood .No offence to Rafi Sahab , he too was a great singer .

quite a boring rendition. how can I like this as a die hard Mahendra Kapoor fan. When you hear jagjit Singh his origianl ghazals..then one wonders can anyone come any where near ( except perhaps Rafi sahab) , but when he sings Mukesh or rafi..its far from perfect
No one is perfect if u will say rafi to sing a ghazal of jagjit singh he will be far behind everyone has its unique style it was just tribute not a competition . U call boring just try to sing only para like jagjit
this is the difference, its called variety, no one can be like other, in the universe, Diversity! sbka apna ang, andaz, talent hota. copy ki bjye apna tarz pesh krty legends, tribute hota, apny style men!

Stereotypical style of jagjit nothing special no innovation mahindra was better with variation of sound and pitch jagjit no variation just like a sermon

Very bad singing , a great singer gone awry in his last days . His voice is just not suited for such songs as he completely lacks versatility .while he can sing Ghalib outstandingly he looks completely out of track in this nazm
