Sam brow beat and put her hands on Sam, a pregnant woman -which is ALWAYS a no, no. I bet Alexis would have though twice about risking her grandaughter for her daughter. It was crappy that Sam lost Lila. However, Alexis has always felt that HER needs are more important then anyone else's.
I fell twice while pregnant - once I slammed down backwards onto a boulder, the other time I fell onto my stomach while running up a flight of stairs - not a thing happened to the baby. Placental abruption almost never occurs as the result of maternal trauma.
No but Sam fell 5 a think from what a remember and she did have a lot of stress from the pregnancy and other complications she had when she was pregnant like when she had to have surgery and other thinks that complicated the pregnancy. And not only that but how Sonny tormented her about how he was the father and how Jason couldn’t be the father and how he had to how spit custody and just all that stress on Sam I thing was too much and when Alexis was yelling at her I think it was too much for her to handle especially when pregnancy
I understand that. but sam also has the right to protect her unborn child from harm. and it wasn't right to call her selfish for putting her baby first
Actually No she didn't "murder" her granddaughter. Steven Lars explained that Sam was bound to go into premature labor anyways, she was experiencing placenta abruptia. I think that's what it's called. No amount of yelling causes that. It was a natural occurance.
I didn't like Alexis at this time but damn can NLG act her butt off! I really wish she would have sumitted these scenes for the emmy's the following year, she def would have been in the running for the win.
Sometimes I wonder, how the scene might have played out if they had known they were related. Seriously, I think Sam would have weighed it differently, 10% of losing the baby vs 100% of losing her little sister plays different than just another woman's kid. of course, I think Alexis would have had a harder time asking, too. Which means it would have been an even better story.
RE: Alexis being harsh. Put yourself in her shoes. Her baby was dying and she knew there was a chance that Sam's baby, whom she knew was a half sibling to Krissy *but not knowing that genetically she was even moreso a possible match as baby Lila was also her grandchild* could help save Krissy. What would you do? Would you wait?
That's why it's conflict...Because there's no easy answer. Sam isn't the only one trying to protect a child in this clip. However, unlike Sam...Alexis is completely aware that her daughter IS dying at this point. She's a little out of her mind...again, that's the point. It must be so nice to see the world in nothing but black and white...
The fall didn't have anything to do with it, otherwise that complication would have shown up immediately after it. Alexis yelling at Sam didn't cause the m/c. It is true that if Sam had been able to get induced immediately in order to give the stem cells, the baby may have had a better chance (Sam would've been on monitors while in labor, which would have picked up fetal distress, and an emergency section could've been done right away).
I'm glad your baby was O.K., despite the falls. Sam fell at the convent, at the PCPD, thrown down by Nico (a couple of times), & none of that was good for the baby. That was my point, not that the abruption happened after any of those falls. But Sam's baby was put through alot of stress during the entire pregnancy & to blame Alexis is nonsense.
You know I don't blame Sam, I'm not that dumb. I think physically falling has more to do w/it than Alexis yelling at her. It's possible if they had induced it when Alexis asked nicely, the baby would be alive now. Something to think about.

I know emotional stress for a pregnant woman is never good. 4. If Sam had induced labor the chances would have been better for the baby. 5. Alexis didn't kill Sam's baby, the writers did.
I feel for them both also. But I really can't blame Alexis for Sam losing her baby. Stress may have been a factor but her life was stressful anyway. Jason is in the mob for heaven sake. Arguments was nothing new to Sam. I do admit that Alexis was being selfish and irrational. But who the hell wouldn't be?? Who would want to willingly give up on the only way to save your child? Not me! It's sad anyway you look at it.
