Wow! What an outstanding unboxing…….a hidden talent revealed😀 let’s hope the gen 4 batteries last a lot longer than the gen 3! The Achilles heal of modern Triumphs appear to be the electronic/electrical components.
I'm curious how the battery voltage measured with a multimeter shows after a few hours when the green light is on. It shows me 12.35V and yet the green light is on. I expected to see more than 12.5V and yet the green light is on and at 12.33 V. However, the motorcycle starts easily even if the battery shows a lower voltage. The battery is lead acid free maintanance, If I use another charger the battery reaches 12.7 V but with Optimate 2 it does not stay at 12.7 and goes down to 12.33V and yet it shows me that it is fully charged.
Possibly the difference between a “battery charger” and these which are more battery maintainers (or tenders)? Mine maintains at that lower voltage and I think it is just less harsh on the battery. 👍
Hi, just purchased this and the Din socket adaptor for my Triumph Tiger 900 GT PRO. I have it plugged in to the front Din socket uder the TFT. When I switch on the green led 1 is lit and the led 3 flahes red for about a minute then goes off and then only led 1 is lit (green). Can't seem to find this scenario in the instruction booklet so could anyone advise please
I can't find that scenario either. If LED 4 is not lit it definitely hasn't got to a point in charging. Just in case it is a socket issue try the crocodile clips directly on the battery to see if it emulates the same LED pattern.
@@ginoasci Ah, sorry, the DIN connection cable. That was a Triumph part I purchased with my Tiger 1200 back in 2018, part number A9930416. If a dealer cannot get that for you a newer version is A9930600. There are any number of suppliers of generic DIN to SAE cables though.
@@terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff : I was under the impression that all these items came included in the kit you purchased. Maybe that kit isn’t available anymore. Ok, I can do that, very much appreciate tour help.
Mine gets regularly ridden but for some reason it eats batteries. Triumph dealer tested the bike at rest and said it’s resting draw is normal but it has had two battery replacements in four years. These were not covered under warranty either as that is limited to 12 months. My Honda on the other hand can sit for months with no tender and fire up first time.

Well they are on my bike, that’s for sure!

Great vid brother!
Cheers Bob!
Okay….when battery is charged up and it goes to ‘float’ mode, which lights should be on?
Outer two should be green.
Please provide the website to that OPTIMATE because what I find doesn’t come with that DIM connection.
Here you go, along with all of the cable options.

Thank you but nothing here.
Please try again.

Need to buy a bike with a Lithium battery! Awesome excuse,.....er...reason!
I definitely think so Ron 😮!
My 2020 GT has never been hooked up to a battery tender. All you have to do is ride the thing.
