I understand and agree with all you're saying but there is a flaw in your reasoning: 1) 6 shots, not 9. 2) In all my life of hunting pigs (I'm 78) I have never had time to fire 3 shots at a bunch of pigs (they run really fast and it's not in circles). I want to know where my first 2 shots are going. Not my 6th. I am very tempted to get a Rossi R95. Love the classic look of the Marlin 336 in this rifle. Were your target shots at 50 or a 100?
With lever actions it can be tricky to keep them from doing that, not just because of barrel heat, but each round that's removed from the tube, it changes tge barrel harmonics.
Too many people want a rifles to shoot 1 MOA out of the box and many can this day in age, but still a lever action rifle is about practical effectiveness at under 100 yards. I've always thought of the paper plate being the kill zone of any mid to large size game. Under real time shooting no hunter is going to be as good as the rifle is by human factor so even a tack driver rifle is only as good as the shooter under stress.

@@Enduro300rr lever actions usually have that problem because the mag tube is attached to the barrel.

Its as good as you need at approx 100 yrds. All I have tried is cheap prvi partizan 150gn, good enough for me.
