I remember skating downtown BR with Sal. Galvez baby! Until someone broke the library window. Sal was the first I saw Ollie a fire hydrant near the Centroplex. Holy crap, we're all getting old!
HAHAHA! How did I know he was gonna pull the Z-frame out? That was my all time fav bike ever. My cousin had one but it was waaay too expensive for my side of the family. Good shit man.
"Sal... Sal Barbier": "do you have job or anything?": "No Maam, just a vagrant" This was a super cool clip. Like Sal, I was a BMX kid that got into skating. I'd drool over bikes in BMX Plus/BMX Action and Freestylin... and could only dream of the bikes in those zines. When you've got disposable income, you're working full-time and rocking a family or other commitments, you don't have the 'disposable time'... ah man, maybe I should just buy a BMX anyway.
Forget the purists- RIDE the bikes. Still got my original '82 Supergoose (see it on Flickr if you dig Supergooses). BUT, I can't agree with re-chroming all of the time, if only because repro stickers are junk, and also people will try to counterfeit a Sears frame into an MCS or Redline with stickers. Obviously not an issue with the CW. Great collection, Sal.
Love how he buys them to ride them, not just to collect. Cool dude...
Id hang with this dude for sure.
The video is 10 years old so things might have changed ;)
@@thule are you saying Sal isn't cool anymore?
