    One of the greatest 3 game sets I've seen on this channel, thrilling until the very end.
    4-4 start is overthinking it on the organizers part. Just play the games to 21 so there's no confusion, simple enough.

  • @Skell-gi8qy
    @Skell-gi8qy 3 года назад +29

    Overall I would say that the decision to start at four points in this tournament was flawed, in theory it would just speed up matches... But in practice it seemed to cause more confusion than it was worth. As far as I can tell in the last set even though the game started at four points it looks as if they just played it as a regular 15 point set without the four point head start.

    • @cabdriver123456
      @cabdriver123456 3 года назад +1

      It would have been a lot more practical and logical to start at 0-0 and play until 21. The last game they played both teams didn't realise that both sets were started at 0-0 instead of 4-4, probably because they don't really check the score in the early portions of the set. But since it's highly more probable that at least someone on the court will check the score when the set is nearing its end, even in case the scorekeeper maybe isn't informed that the set is played to 21, the players would realise and stop playing.

    • @RoyalsRP
      @RoyalsRP 3 года назад +1

      Yeah it's a really weird system. In the area I play, whenever tournaments/leagues want to speed things up they play to 21. A little more straight forward on my opinion

    I'm not sure if there is a separate rule in this specific tournament, but my understanding of the rules is that if a libero uses their hands in the front row, then nobody in the front row can jump and swing, but since the attacker was already in the back row, then it was ok for him to jump and swing normally. (At 22:30). I think that's the case but I'm not certain.

    in the playoffs, all teams started at 0-0 (and not 4-4 as in the pool play). in one of your previous videos one of the scorekeepers can be seen starting each set at 0-0.
    so 1st set ended 20-23
    2nd set: 23-21 (did u guys play until 23?!)
    3rd set: 16-18 (no team was up by more than one point since 14-14)

    Can you clarify the libero setting rule? As far as I understand the libero must stay grounded if he wants to set in front of the 10ft line. Does that mean both feet or one foot has to stay on the ground? It seems part of the libero’s feet was still touching the ground in this clip.

    • @Krittin0
      @Krittin0 3 года назад

      Both of you were incorrect. A libero can hand set from anywhere inside the court, but he cannot contact, in any way, the ball while it is completely above the net, for it to cross to the opponent’s side. If the libero hand sets inside the front zone, another player cannot attack the ball from anywhere if the ball is completely above the net.

    Question: at 14:48, why does the setter go to the left front? Wouldn't you lose a hitter by doing that? Since both of the lefty hitters are on the right side now. Just genuinely curious

    • @Destamoon
      @Destamoon 3 года назад

      I was wondering this too. I'm guessing they want the lefty hitting from the right as he's more comfortable there and they might need a bigger block for that particular rotation. They dont really lose a hitter as they can still utilize 2 middles (front + pipe) and two on the right side (D + 3D). I would've probably sent the middle to hit on the outside to split the blockers a bit but he might not be comfortable doing that
