As an American, i didn't understand real poverty until I left the U.S to go on a medical mission trip. Even our poorest area cannot compare to developing countries.
This is truly one of the most sad and difficult 👍 that I've ever given a RUclips video!😥 The circumstances that those poor unforgettable people are forced to live in is simply horrible, unforgivable and inhuman!😢 Thank you for sharing the state of these unfortunate people with all of us!!

The interest irony is that I live on the other side of Makoko in Lagos. My side is a developed landfill area with modern housing and infrastructure, but across the third mainland bridge is makoko. I do hope the government will one do something to help.
I honestly don't want to sound like a fear monger, but you said it's on developed landfill. You (and everyone else there of course!) need to get a well-qualified surveyor out every so often to check for two things - sharing the cost between the residents, e.g. street by street, should reduce the financial burden. Movement of the land beneath the buildings (watch out for cracks in building walls, inside and out), and test for leaking gasses, especially methane. The surveyor (who should be independent from the local government) should be able to tell you how often your area should be checked. Like I said, I honestly don't want to scare you, and I obviously don't know how well the preparation work was done before the building. Hopefully it was done as well as humanly possible. But I know what damage a landslide can do and it's terrifying. If any of your area is raised up, that will need the most testing. My father was a "rescuer" (he only recovered bodies of children the same age as my older sisters) at the Aberfan disaster, where almost an entire generation was killed. Even though he lived to 88, he never got over it. I'm really sensitive to landfill and "man-made hills" as a result. I pray that you are 100% safe and will stay that way throughout a long & happy life. 🫂
I know this was a hard one for you Mike, we all know you're a good man, you have such compassion for the humans and animals suffering in the cities on this list. I hope you took some time to let this one go after filming. These facts are heavy and painful to hear for all of us.

Kudos to you Mike , I usually don’t follow RUclips or its tubers, but I really like your work and this episodes confirms it. You’re such a kind soul . The world needs more people like you .
I don't wish to appear unfeeling, but it seems insane for people to keep having children. When the bombs are dropping and the food is gone, what possess people to bring another little life into a world of hell? And another thing. Who provides the arms, the bullets, the bombs?
It happens in America also. Very stupid. I didn't have children on purpose. Even animals know better than to breed when times are bad. With 9 billion on the planet and the world we are leaving behind for future generations you have to be stupid, selfish, or both to have a ton of kids.
It’s not that simple. You have to put into perspective the history of the areas. Many of the countries on this list were impacted by European colonialism and U.S. imperialism don not have the infrastructure to overcome said obstacles. They’ve received little to no aid from international communities nor the countries that invaded them. Additionally, it might not be the case that folks are having children by choice. The laws in many of these countries prevent access to important medical care, abortions, and do not protect women and girls from sexual violence. People might have been coerced to have children due to familial and societal pressures. When you don’t have access to work or education, you don’t have many options for advancement or entertainment, leading to the primary form of recreation being sexual activity. To answer your second question about the providing of arms and weapons, it’s most likely the United States, directly or indirectly. It’s easy to deride folks from the comfort of our homes in the U.S. - and there are plenty of problems on the scale of the cities highlighted here too - without taking into consideration the context of world history over the last five hundred years. European exploration and U.S. globalization has done almost irreparable damage to much of the world.

My God. I struggle to breath when the AQI is at 24 or higher. If I had to live in a city with an AQI of 1700 I would probably die with my first breath. This entire video is so sad and so hard to watch. I'm sorry to say that I never knew most of these places existed, let alone how bad it is for the people there. The issue isn't that the people are impoverished. It's that 1% of the world's population has more money than all the rest of the world combined, and most of them only work to get even more for themselves. This has to change.
This was a very difficult watch. We can't imagine what you felt while presenting it. It's devastating to realize what these people experience every day. These stories are heartbreaking. Given how many of these are due to war and violent crimes as opposed to natural causes, there is a "simple" answer to their problems. I'm not naïve enough to think that such violence can be solved overnight, but I get so angry with those on both sides who clearly don't care about the innocents. There is no excuse for violence - period. 😢
It's all about greed, differences in philosophies, control of resources and the inability to, or unwillingness of, the citizens to fight back. They must help *themselves,* or they *WILL* perish.
I have watched this video to see about being thankful for what I have. I don't complain because I realize I have so many blessings. We need to have governments that aren't corrupt. Selfishness is the root of all evil. We should not have billionaires in the world. I don't want to be a billionaire with poverty and hunger still here. The combined wealth of the world's billionaires can end poverty in the world several times over. All developing countries should become developed ones. Money should not be spent on war. I wish I could instantly end all poverty and hunger in the world. For those of us lucky, let's not complain. We all should have a right to a good life. I wish for a bright future.
Very difficult to watch, all of the sadness. Someone commented about other governments stepping in to help, unfortunately other governments stepping in is THE REAL PROBLEM! Someone else commented that with so many billionaires in the world, why is there still so much suffering? WEALTH or being wealthy isn’t a humanitarian crime, but GREED is. And being GREEDY with all of that wealth should be. How about a little more generosity and sharing that wealth where it’s needed? Unfortunately there are profits to be realized where there is great suffering, just learn the truth in the REAL HISTORY of the world - the stuff that’s not being taught in schools - you must research and study on your own, but wow, does it become clear.

There aren’t any statistics on NK because they aren’t provided. You can’t compare something you know nothing about against actual statistics. We know it’s bad but we can’t say it’s worse than someone with no water access because we don’t know if they have regular water access. 😅 This is also you stating you’d rather live in either a war torn city, or a city with heightened gang activity, which I can’t say I would. Finally, name the city you believe is worst, that’s the context of the list. I can’t say I know of a single city where we have any level of data from to say that’s the worst. I get your direction but it would be lazy journalism, at best. 🤷♀️
@kirstybrown1185 i m a korean with afew friends who escaped from north Korea North Korea is even worse than most of places listed But that place is more like a big cult not a country thou
These places sound rather harrowing at that and I feel sorry their inhabitants. However, let's not overlook the community of La Rinconada, Peru with its roughly 16,000 inhabitants existing in a place with incredible pollution and environmental degradation, virtual lawlessness ,unbelievable filth in the open with most inhabitants mining illegally built and unsafely constructed mine tunnels for tiny pittances- all at an altitude of 16,900 feet (5300 meters).
How do you find these places how can this place is ever survive? I don’t know what to think anymore. How can this happen in the world today? Sometimes I wish I had more money than anybody in the world just to be able to give make sure no one goes hungry no baby dies make sure people have safe homes to live in. No more crimes no more murders. It hurts too much to think of people actually living like this. You do a good job Mike unfortunately we can’t put this in front of everyone’s faces so they can see what really happens in the world by the way I like the hat keep itGod bless
Pretty good as usual. But Dude! at 4:08 why are you using euphemisms? We're talkin dysentery, dengue fever, typhoid, malaria, polio, pneumatic plague, botulism, and a list of other pathogens.
On top of all that, my Samsung smart tv doesn’t support the Apple TV app. I have to use my PlayStation if I want to watch the second season of Silo. And sometimes that doesn’t even work.
@@seanA416It's not, but American's also aren't helping their own while helping ( forcing threw taxes) to allow benifits for immigrants ( illegal). I think it is more like a not going happen senerio. But imagine if you could still have riches but if the Earth took humanity under their wing as a whole, this could be a beautiful world but sadly we as humans seem to be incapable of this, I GAURENTEE that there are planets that all are taken care of and probably a big reason we haven't seen Aliens. The type of world's like that likely are so advanced because instead of wasting resources on violence, greed and war we could be doing the opposite. That's the only way our civilization as a entirety will ever become advanced beyond our comprehension. That and our constant falling away from God. I believe God isn't just the Father of the Earth but many worlds, parallel Earths even maybe. But no it's not but don't mean it isn't something to think about.
I'm shocked that you would rank Aleppo and Damascus worse than Gaza. No clean water, inadequate food, minimal to no healthcare, living in makeshift tents by the sea in winter, and destroyed sewage systems are apocalyptic even without the bombing. I can't imagine anyone in Aleppo or Damascus thinking they'd be better off in Gaza right now. But at least you didn't ignore Gaza altogether. I'm praying for all the people suffering from war, poverty, crime, and world leaders who think people are just chess pieces in their quest for power and wealth.
With so many millions of people living in unimaginably awful conditions, why is the lion’s share of foreign aid going to support the Gazans, whose terrorist attacks have brought all their troubles on themselves?
It can't be a coincidence that most of the places on this list are in Africa, Asia or Central America. They have been struggling more than any other country on Earth and there will be hell to pay for the colonialism of these countries. Here there be monsters.
Update on Gaza: Israel and Hamas have finally agreed to a ceasefire, and many of the hostages are being released, so maybe there may finally be a light at the end of the tunnel
Then look at European countries where the standard of living is higher for poor people. I do believe any of these people would be lucky to live in the US, but as an English woman, I feel bad for the poor of the US in a whole other way. The rich there though, probably have it the best in the world, in my opinion, because it was made for them.

Could you name a statistic with a NK city name? They’re not given so I’m assuming you can’t. I can’t find what’s the most dangerous, statistically speaking anyway, city in NK, so I’m assuming you just wanted it included because you know it’s bad. 🤷♀️
@kirstybrown1185 Ahhhh.... now I understand you. You're a child. 🤦 I apologize for coming down on you so hard earlier. I did not realize you were a kid. As for statistics on NK, there likely are none published because NK is what is called *"AN ISOLATIONIST"* country. That means they don't share any info with anyone else. They are a strictly communist country and any misbehavior by the citizens is dealt with very severely. NK does not permit most people into, or out of, their country, so your question is probably moot.
Wounder why people gotta pile up on top of each other?? Lonely? And seems like instead of waisting money on infrastructure ... They should start over right close and as they assemble, disassemble the old ... But what do i know ... I live out in the desert all by myself. Haha
You're truly privileged and out of touch with reality if you think a virtual ghost town in one of the most developed countries on earth can hold a candle to these other places. I mean, seriously??? 🙄
Most of these people live under the thumbs of governments. Mike willingly wore that hat. The difference is astonishing. Enjoy your luxuries everyone. Mike stop it.
Mike I can’t believe you and your company placed Colima Mexico as one of the worst places to live in along with Mogadishu yet you failed to put Detroit or Alabama or Arkansas or Gary Indiana or Jax Florida and yes I added some cities and whole states and zero cities in Europe wtf? None of the list has white people cities like Jaywick UK, Guyane, France: 60.3% of the population is at risk of poverty or social exclusion. Calabria, Italy: 48.6% of the population is at risk of poverty or social exclusion. Campania, Italy: 44.4% of the population is at risk of poverty or social exclusion. Southeast of Romania: 45.3% of the population is at risk of poverty or social exclusion.
-50 is Brutal? It is if you have no warm shelter. In that weather, as long as there is snow and you have either a snow home or a home insulated on the outside by snow, you will be ok. The only issue I have ever had in weather colder than -45 is waiting for city transit or a Gray Hound bus when you need to get to a place outside the city.
These are the thoughts we should keep in my as we whine about our lives. That was heartbreaking to watch. I can remember seeing Kampucheans on TV years ago. As a kid myself, I used to cry for them and wonder why they didn't have what we have. Now I know that corrupt politicians would be taking most of the relief aid from countries who are better off. America has been a super power for years, yet have done nothing. Someone needs to take on these corrupt politicians and overthrow them. These impoverished people are worth more than that 💔
*"America has done NOTHING?"* 🤦 Wow. Lack of information to the hilt! But, aside from the misinformation YOU spit out, why is it the respoñsibility of *AMERIÇAN WORKERS'* to fix the eñtire 3rd world's problems?????? 🤦🤡
I do feel bad for all those people, but however, if San Francisco and therefore California continue to decline at the current rate, the state could eventually wind up like some of the places portrayed here... Smh... 🤦🏽♀️ But on a lighter note, you sound like you're getting better, Mike; you must be doing something right... 😉 Happy for ya, and that's a neat look you have there, too... 😊

A harrowing list and not exactly a great precursor to wishing you and yours a happy hanukkah. May the lighting of the candles bring joy to your home.
Would have been hard to do this episode,as it went down pretty quickly.
oppressors using their own people as shields then play victim.
I love the hat! Actually the whole look
Pay no mind, that hat is great.
Disturbing 😢
Hang tough Mike...
That one was rough...
Pretty good as usual. But Dude! at 4:08 why are you using euphemisms? We're talkin dysentery, dengue fever, typhoid, malaria, polio, pneumatic plague, botulism, and a list of other pathogens.
Merry Christmas, to everyone on list 25 including Mike.
Thank you for this listing. I’m so fortunate to live in the U.S. No matter how bad life seems to be we’re still better off.
I've been to Kenya. Mombassa is just as bad.
On top of all that, my Samsung smart tv doesn’t support the Apple TV app. I have to use my PlayStation if I want to watch the second season of Silo. And sometimes that doesn’t even work.
Guess i'm second. Happy holidays everyone
Funny how the worlds richest folk could adopt one of these places and make it better. But they don't as far as we know.
How is that their responsibility?
And if we did, the corruption would guarantee that those who need the help will never see it.
That would be colonization
They would be called colonizers and told that they are destroying culture
😢 Damn, and we here in America think we've got it bad!! We better think again and count our blessings.
This should not be allowed in these countries new York is gonna end up like this,
Standing ovation to these governments, ESPECIALLY india 👏👏
1:35 that's why bringing them all to the United States is A GREAT IDEA! 🤔
_Only_ the ones that are good, honest folk, _not_ any criminals, tyvm... 😓
Been playing Indiana Jones it looks like
You can help all of these people. Just send $19 a month. 😂
I am Early just like the First Guy!
Third 😂
With so many millions of people living in unimaginably awful conditions, why is the lion’s share of foreign aid going to support the Gazans, whose terrorist attacks have brought all their troubles on themselves?
Before I even start it, I’m guessing Kinshasa DRC. That place is a mess.
We don't realize how blessed we are to live in the USA
Then look at European countries where the standard of living is higher for poor people. I do believe any of these people would be lucky to live in the US, but as an English woman, I feel bad for the poor of the US in a whole other way. The rich there though, probably have it the best in the world, in my opinion, because it was made for them.
I think there may be equally terrible cities in Venezuela and North Korea but they are suppressing the worst of the information
You should do what you can. But poverty will never be solved because Life is a test.
As you probably have gathered by now Mike I don't go for Your "Worst of" stuff but I'm giving this a chance to count our blessings! Merry XMas and Holidays! ☦️🎅🏼🎄🎁 🤓😎✌🏼 Sorry only got thru half before I turned You off as it was too depressing!🤬
North Korea should be on here.
Haha
Akon City should be up here
Was waiting to hear Yuma Arizona due to the ungodly heat here in the summer. And border problems.
Centralia, Pennsylvania
That is the town riddled with coal mines burning underground. Population and related concerns different.
You're truly privileged and out of touch with reality if you think a virtual ghost town in one of the most developed countries on earth can hold a candle to these other places. I mean, seriously??? 🙄
I take it you've been to Nebraska avenue
Uploaded 8 minutes ago!
Hmmm
Most of these people live under the thumbs of governments. Mike willingly wore that hat. The difference is astonishing. Enjoy your luxuries everyone. Mike stop it.
The rapture and people turn to Jesus is the only thing that will save these people living like this!
Depressing AF. How do people tolerate living in such inhumane conditions?? Do anything and everything you can to make change!
For me texas
You left out Jackson, MS
Doesn't even come close to comparing with the places on this list.
Perhaps you should just stay home in Mayberry and remain ignorant.
Why would he wear that silly hat for such a serious topic??
Yes these living places are horrible this is where more pandemics are gonna come from?
-50 is Brutal? It is if you have no warm shelter. In that weather, as long as there is snow and you have either a snow home or a home insulated on the outside by snow, you will be ok. The only issue I have ever had in weather colder than -45 is waiting for city transit or a Gray Hound bus when you need to get to a place outside the city.
oklala
Joey Biden was trying his best to make our country on that list 😮
bro 😭
@realjazzygd thanks 👍
Separation can cause countries to fall like some of the countries on that list.. i.e Jan 6th... I'd say that was the closest.
Trump will bring us closer you Russian bot.
@@travey2390 🥱💩
How can people live like this i couldn't!
They don’t have the ability to leave. It’s not like western countries where you save and move. You’re stuck there!
You didn't mention Tampa
This is good evidence for a wise loving Creator that cannot make a mistake.
I do feel bad for all those people, but however, if San Francisco and therefore California continue to decline at the current rate, the state could eventually wind up like some of the places portrayed here... Smh... 🤦🏽♀️
But on a lighter note, you sound like you're getting better, Mike; you must be doing something right... 😉 Happy for ya, and that's a neat look you have there, too... 😊
That hat is not doing you any favours, bud.
Indiana Jones hat....lol
What a hater
😂😂😂😂😂......na not a hater just facts lol
@@jeramietraylor9662 opinions are like anuses, everyone has one
