Some more tips: When you do a tas for the first time, do something Simple like completing a level or collect the first collectable Take your time, if your objective is to be as fast as possible, go frame by frame Disable background input The red frames are mostly something loading, like a level, you can't Control that If you need to press as fast as possible, put a space between presses Disable or make the autosaving intervals like One hour For stuff like the joystick in the N64, the value is intensity, not rotation (to go to a direction than arent the 8 normal, put the highest value in One, and a smaller One to set rotation)
Thank you so much for this! I'm trying to get into speedrunning, and since I'm really bad at doing things quickly I figured that doing TAS stuff was the best of speedrunning and playing at a normal pace, if that makes sense😂
A lot of people omit this whole programs I'm glad I found it ,I find tas very interesting and enjoyable to watch so now I can try to create one thank you very much .
Speedrunners: "I need to beat this level really fast... I remember how to do that... come on..." TASers: "At $E61B screen refreshes, causing all enemies in the visible area dissapear, but they'll teleport to 0; 0 coordinate, so it should be done after opening all chests because doing this will change all $E61C-$E81C addresses to 0000..."
This is as i see it the best video explaining how to make a tas on a modern version of bizhawk thank you for making this video Ps. yes i know this comment is going to age terribly with the "Modern version of bizhawk" thing but whatever
for anyone who can play the game but trying to open the tas leads to a crash, you need to make sure there is a bin file in the firmware folder, not a folder containing a bin
I know you might not answer this since this a 2 year old video but I have a problem. I can play the ROMs perfectly fine but when opening Tas Studio and start recording inputs, the inputs show in TAS studio but the game doesn't detect them. So I'm basically stuck on the title screen.
Now I fixed it, you need to download the prerqs installer, if you have windows 8, download the latest file that installs net framework 4.6.1, then install the last bizhawk release that supports net framework 4.6.1 and not net framework 4.8 If you have windows 8.1 or superior download the latest prereqs installer and the latest bizhawk version
Question: I have tried 3 different sega emulators Kega Fusion, Genesis Plus GX (retroarch) and Bizhawk. All of them I encounter the same problem, after I die while controlling the P2 side port with the Mouse as emulated Menacer, I am unable to continue by pressing start on the P1 side joypad controller. It does not matter what I map P1 Start too in the control bindings menu. All 3 emulators simply do not register the P1 start input after the game has actually started and I am shooting things with the mouse as a emulated Menacer. The P1 start button DOES work to get to the TITLE screen and the start game menu, but thats it. After the game actually starts and you are playing with the menacer, when you die, it is impossible to use any credits to continue by pressing start. Making the claim that the emulators support lightguns a complete joke and lie.
what if for example i want to download PC game? i wanted to download LEGO Batman: The videogame but there were only PSP or WII versions, thanks for answer
Say I'm doing a NDS TAS with Bizhawk, and the game requires a touch input instead of a button input. How would I tell Bizhawk "press here on this frame"?
I cannot download the GBA BIOS because of a hotlinking error, does anybody know how to fix it? I guess that doesn't matter because I can't run this on MAC. Does someone know of a program I can use to emulate on MAC then.
Thanks for the video, but I still don't know how to put PC games like "I Wanna Be The Boshy"? There is no ROM for it and idk how to do it and how it's possible, pls help.

So every TAS I see is a perfectly edited Groundhog Day. It recorded and the person who uploaded it onto Y.T only played parts of it in real time.
Thank you bro you saved me with my very first tas, when I tried recording in avi my video kept spitting up. Maybe this will help me :)
The website from which you downloaded the rom does not have the rom for the game that I wasnt to tas.

Can a TAS perform multiple inputs per frame, even if it doesn’t affect the gameplay? I also want to give it a go!
Also, I can’t download the gba bios because it says hotlinking is no longer allowed
Unfortunately you can't put multiple inputs per frame, but that's a limitation on the original hardware and not something wrong with BizHawk
