Which was the best Idris story?
    A) Getting cast in The Wire
    B) Hanging with Drake and Nipsey Hussle
    C) Convincing Jay Z to let him on the American Gangster album?

I love this man. I love how beautifully he tells a story. I’m mesmerized. One of the best interviews I’ve ever seen. I feel like this is more of a conversation than an interrogation. The responses are genuine, full, and raw. I really appreciate his point of view on celebrity. I never thought that being famous would be a good thing. That said, I appreciate those who risk their happiness by standing in the spotlight.

Idris Elba is way more then his movie presence.
Just a great human being working hard to make his presence known regardless the travails in his way.
Thanks to First We Feast for bringing Mr.Elba into the show to tell his story.

I like Idris honestly he seems like a really outspoken guy with a decent sense of humor. Nice to have so many talented people from the UK coming here and entertaining us. Idris Elba you are a bloody legend, bruv! ❤ Edit: I also especially appreciate his underrated role in Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. It wasn't exactly a great game as a whole but the campaign was a lot of fun and his role as Cormack was fantastic and he really did a fantastic job of making Cormack a beloved mentor like character. You're such a great talent Idris Elba I love you, man. ❤

His accent as Stringer Bell is one of the most complete embodiments of another way of speaking I’ve ever heard. Not just the accent, which was perfect. And granted, he didn’t have any Shakespearean length soliloquies, but still. I think if you ask people who work with accents in the business and people who study linguistics as an aspect of culture, they’ll put Stringer Bell in their top top top list.

He did have that one where he was explaining CEOs which was almost a soliloquy, now that I think about it. And that was damn good.

I dont know if you all watched through the end but he gave Sean and the team a great compliment, like so many other of the guests, and i couldn't be happier for them. It's the only interview type set up i care to watch at all and i know they bust it to make the show what it is. The Jimmies, conans and ellens need to catch up...

Couldn't agree more. Sean asks about the *people* celebrities are instead of just their public personas. In many cases he shows the human and "normal" side of some of the most famous folks on the planet. I would love to see him go beyond chicken wings *only* because it limits the guest lineup but at the same time would be unhappy to see him go. Keep up the great work Team Hot One's!

Agree that Hot Ones does a great job, but they also do like 50(ish?) interviews a year. Daily shows do that in like a month.

i REALLY like seeing this side of Idris Elba.. his talking about celebrity obsession and how unhealthy it is, is something EVERYONE that's ever watching keeping up with the kardashians should see. I've never seen an episode so i'm referrring to the celebrity obsession it inspires, and not talking about the show in an way.. We've got a whole generation of people that are obsessed with other peoples' lives, to the detriment of their own.

Sean, the origin of “Bob’s your uncle …” relates to Sir Robert Peel, when he was Home Secretary. He was well known for nepotism - he often ensured that extended family obtained employment. So, if someone secured advantageous employment, ‘Bob’ must be his uncle. Idris was correct that the expression is often used to indicate that someone is ‘on the right track’ or doing well. But the origin of the expression is Sir Robert Peel’s well-known nepotism.

It's interesting how actors are coached or how they train...so to speak. Alexa told Idris to go sit in a barbershop, in BK to familiarize himself with the American street lingo. John Singleton took Damson Idris on a walk around South Central and told him not to break character for the Snowfall role. Those are pretty dope suggestions or methods.
