If a compound rotates plane polarised light in left direction it is devoted by leavorotatary and '-`and if it rotates in right it is dextro and denoted as +
See mate , let me explain , I also find same kind of confusion in this topic .But after VK sir my eyes opened . small d and small l represent drextro- rotatory and levo rotatory. This is related with optical activity .If the PPL is turned towards right then its d or if it is turned left then its l .d is also represented as + , l is also represented as - But this is D , L (capital D and capital L )which has nothing to do with optical activity .If OH group of last chiral carbon is on right side , it is called D form .If it is on left side it is called L form . The optical activity of Carbohydrate (d or l ) is independent of D or L . Although the carbohydrate is optically active as it hs chiral carbon
Sir lowest chiral carbon should be second one(closer to aldehyde group because aldehyde is given priority over alcohol in iupac naming)..... PLEASE REPLY ANYONE
@@aparnajhariya3495No for dextro and laevo we use + and -, D is for the compounds which are derived the glyceraldehyde in which OH is on right side while L is used for those who are derived from the glyceraldehyde in which OH is on the left side they have no relation with the optical dextro or laevo
India is the 2nd country in terms of speaking English!!...so we are not surprised to see the thumbnail in English language....we can understand both Hindi & English!!😎😎😎😎😎
This video made me understand the D/L configuration accurately
Jazakallah Khair, .. Ek Itna Major Topic 2 minute me samjha dia.. So thank you.. Kal mera exam hai and it really helped Alhamdulillah. .. ❤
Short and concept clear vidio...thank uu very much sir ji..🙏🏻🙏🏻 god bless uu
Most welcome ✌🏻
thank you sir this is the first video which gave me exactly what i wanted instead of wasting my time
Excellent👍👏😆!!!!!
And please explain about "+" and "-" notation too
If a compound rotates plane polarised light in left direction it is devoted by leavorotatary and '-`and if it rotates in right it is dextro and denoted as +
Does that mean + and d or the same?
@@py_yogesh_1435 no '+'and'd'is not the same thing
'+'indicates dextrorotatory compound and 'd'incates a similar configuration to d glyceraldehyde
@@nishantjangra5386 Do u mean that we can't give the + or - notation by simply Seeing the Structure? Please give me the right explanation

Thank you sir... I got my concepts crystal clear
Learning a lot of oragnic from u .
Thank you ❤️
Maja aaya gaya sir 😍
It helped a lot. Thanks.
Very very thankful to vinit sir❤❤
Sir is you are using resonance module....
Thank you sir
Funda clear sir ❤👍👍ji
Best explanation 😊
Thanku sir for better explanation
Sir, how can we convert Fischer projection of multiple chiral carbon to wedge and dash?
Thank you soo much sir for this lecture...thank u very much...💞from kashmir
Super explanation
Thank you dear sir ❤️❤️❤️
Well explained sir
Keep watching
Thank you so much 😊
Thanxx sir
Thank you very much sir ...!!
Most welcome!!!

Good video sir❤
Excellent sir ❤
Thanks a lot
@@atpstarkota sir what if it has both oh and Nh2 ??
Thank you sir ji ❤❤
Impressive👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much sir
Thanku Sir ❤🎉
Was very helpful... Thank you so much
Lekin sir hydrogen ka Jo bond hai glyceraldehyde mai use back side me krne baad toh hydroxy group left Mai Aa jayega....
seedhi baat no bakwass !!!!!
thanks sir 🙏🙏🙏
Great content 👌🏽👌🏽
Excellent
Thankyou sir ji

i too have the same doubt pls any one reply
Uhm if you haven't got it cleared, it's the last chiral carbon actually that can be said as the farthest chiral carbon acc to iupac nomenclature
Sir is wrong
It should be highest chiral carbon
Me too have same doubt
@@prabhatmishra1194he meant to say lowest in terms of height i.e The bottom carbon .
Your videos r just excellent!! Keep making them
Thanks sir
Thank u so mach sir
Sir.. what does lowest chiral carbon mean?
According to iupac numbering , find out the lowest carbon which is chiral .
Carbon chain me sab saii lowest jo haii..
Why do not assumed CHO NEXT CARBON
Best
Nice
Thank you
Most welcome 🤗
Sir aap to bghwan ho yrrrrrr mere liye
Kitte video dekha smj ji nhi aa rha tha
But now it's clear
Tqssss soo much 😘😁🙏🏻 love you sir.....
Sir ,why OH group is at doted position ,in general H is at doted position
2:53 pe H to dash pr nahi ha usko rotate ni krna padega pehle?
What if Oh and Nh2 are not present on right and left (horizontal)
Instead they are on vertical line
You are the best organic teacher in world .What was your marks in chemistry in IIT as you are IIT Roorkee alumni.
In wedge structure, if OH is not on dashed bond , then how to look for DL??
Thanks
sir what happens when molcule is rotated 180* when aldehyde comes down then which is lower most chiral carbon

thank you sir ! ✌☺
