I believe he’s talking about the 10 virgins in Matthew 25. Not 10 bridesmaids. Let me just break it down so that you guys can get a clear understanding.
The reason they’re called “virgins” because they profess a pure faith. 5 of the 10 were wise and the other 5 were foolish. By the lamp it’s represented “the word of God” ( Psalm 119:105) The oil is a symbol of “The Holy Spirit” (1 Samuel 16:13, Zechariah 4:2-6, Revelation 4:5). The Bridegroom is JESUS.
To add, they are also virgins as they proclaimed to be pure, having never been with the world and having no other lover but Christ Himself - our Bridegroom. The oil in the lamp represents the knowledge they have and possess in Him - for the HS discloses to us the knowledge of Truth i.e. Christ.
