I agree that it's highlighting issues in a lot of them and some are just lazy stereotypes that they joke about for all races like dick size etc which is fine. But then there's ones like the convenience store where 4 black guys come in and it's implied they're about to rob the place literally because they're black, and that does seem kinda fucked up.

Yup!.. even white people I bet people wouldn't expect that🤣.. comedy is subjective, we should learn to laugh at ourselves before we laugh at anyone else... I think comedy is the best place to bring about all the fucked up shit in the world!!! Getting offended at comedy is pathetic in my opinion because it's meant to show us how stupid all of this is and lets us laugh about it.. only if someone is seriously tryna get under your skin and genuinely has that hatred only then should people be offended.. for example since we're on the topic of race I believe that racism is fucking disgusting and shouldn't exist whereas race comedy/jokes I believe should be more than okay for the reasons I've already explained... But yeah family guy doesn't hold back on anyone or anything 🤣

When ultra conservative comedians go ''How about them dirty immigrants, amirite?'' and then try to defend it by saying ''it's just a joke'' that shit don't work. Borat makes a ton of people uncomfortable. But hearing Cohen describe how he extracts hypocrisy and bigotry from those who become exposed by hitting on their triggers, it made me appreciate the approach a lot more. As an avid Family Guy watcher, most of these jokes in this clip make a little more sense when you get the set up. All this is is the punchlines of the jokes. I actually thought this video clip was poorly compiled and edited.

Don't have a problem w/ what Cohen does to make a living and everyone has a right to their opinion, but what he does is disingenuous. He'll go out and act a fool and approach people who don't know wtf is going on, then when they don't catch on or understand what's happening and they just try to politely stumble through interacting with him he'll say that's proof of their bigotry and racism because they didn't strongly disagree with him or his portrayal of those people. It's a dirty tactic to try to make people look worse than they are. I don't have a problem w/ him behaving in a stereo typical way to get a reaction out of people though. Society needs to stop being so sensitive when it comes to that. However, I don't agree that any of his conclusions about white American people are genuine though because he approaches every single one under false pretenses and it's always a set up.
Even in this vid, Knight brought up his experience in Sweden. Their reaction wasn't racist, most of them had never met a black person before. It was inexperience, by the time he left they loved him but there was that initial awkwardness because those people never were around that in their entire lives before. You can't label every reaction racist when inexperience and unknown can also be factors. And w/ the Borat character the people being approached may have never in their entire lives met someone or talked to someone from the Middle East and then their interaction with his stereo typical portrayal is their first experience. That's not genuine at all and it's not a fair way to judge people.

You all tripping, Stevie didn't seem annoyed or upset by the jokes or the serial itself; The truth behind those jokes was what triggered him.
The jokes are only there to emphasize the stupidity of these beliefs that are really laughable while also reminding the viewers that these problems, as stupid, absurd or idiotic they might seem, they still exist.
I also agree with Stevie about the impact of these kind of shows. There are two kinds of people, those who are able to figure out the intent, raising their awareness and those stupid enough to think that it is socially permitted to be openly racist.

Get what you’re saying but as he also pointed out this is just a compilation so it’s not like they are featuring an entire episode on TV that does nothing but make black jokes for 30 minutes straight. If that was the case then I would understand why it would be an issue. However, considering that the show makes fun of whites, Mexicans, Asians, Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Catholics, and the list goes on.. it shouldn’t be taken seriously. Also, one last note, if a show is so offensive to someone then they can refrain from watching and parents have control over what their children can or can’t watch and they have the ability to raise them in their own ways. Being able to relate to a certain topic, and then being shown how silly some of the ideas behind that topic are, can show you how absurd they really were to begin with. I believe that's why this generation is so open to free conversation and having differences. We're working on it, I know, but we are miles ahead of our Ancestors when it comes to getting over our differences. These kind of television shows seems offensive but they actually help us *grow* by forcing us to look onto the worst parts of ourselves. I'm a christian, and the christian jokes in this show are actually on point a lot of the time! Ok, Let's go Sugar Bear. Do you remember Sugar Bear? A brown bear that is walking along the street, says he is hungry and decides to go hit up granny. Granny is an old white lady that sees him coming and says, "Time for a good witch time switch". So she has to be a witch to protect her property from someone that is going to take it. She magics herself back to ancient Egypt to keep Sugar Bear from stealing her food. He appears in the pyramid, and uses mummy wraps to tie her up and then sits down to eat her food in front of her. That was a commercial that played every afternoon during children's viewing hours between cartoons in the early 90's; A commercial showing a big brown guy tying up an old white lady to eat her food. I don't know if that had any impact or not. But really? No one could see that shit?
I don't care so much about the jokes. Jokes are supposed to take us to the edge of what is uncomfortable without going over the line to where we get pissed. Except now the line where people get pissed is before the joke is told. Location, location, location. I would say that the issues are better addressed in a comedy where you know they are poking fun at the idiocy, than laced into commercials to sell us stereotypes when we aren't on guard. And after 20+ years of South Park, I think the jokes seemed to have made us so sensitive we can't even have jokes anymore.
