Instead of vacation. 8/25/23 thru 9/1/23…. My sister and I networked with a church. Partnering with others to come together to help and assist in anyway we could. For renters and homeowners burned out from up country fires. Our first task was on Kulalani dr., basically sorting, digging or sifting. We helped, and hoped, to recover ANYTHING, from the homes. Now reduced to rusting metal and ash. Bananas still hanging, along the driveway. Burnt, chard and black. My heart aches for their loss. I would go back to help again if I’m called.
I’ve lived in Pacific North West most of life. Since 1970. I’ve witnessed so much. Maui, Kula and Lahaina will heal in time. In its own time. Fires happen here every year. We are currently experiencing some very big ones again. These areas will heal and recover. I have been a witness to this.
Maui strong!! ***Protect the lands and oceans***
May our Pacific Ocean keep us connected in solidarity 🌴🌲

    You mentioned FEMA..
    . FEMA did nothing!
Kula lodge hub and the community did something.. gave us water, food, warm meals and slippas.
Volunteers cleared debris and gave us hugs, and let us cry.
I was lucky one mile away but i saw the homes burn and explode.
