What’s really interesting is how these characters having implanted memories of conflict with each other and takes it to its logical conclusion. Technically speaking, it’s not Oscar doing this, not directly, it’s their inability to truly evolve beyond the labels they were given that made them susceptible to the Order Of The Oscar’s self-fulfilling prophecy.
On the other hand, the character’s children having no appreciation for the struggle their parents went through to have peace (combined with the fact that conflict is practically inevitable as long as there are people unable to reconcile their differences), there’s a sense that conflict in any capacity was bound to happen regardless of if the future (or, perhaps, alternate future) versions of Motley and Chimi were there to give that inciting speech or not.
