    I have been using mine ever since release, and I must say, it is awesome!! The design is absolutely amazing, works well with any clothing and watchface. I never replaced the standard bands, and they are very comfy. This watch is also Samsung's longest software supported watch, It has most of the feautres ect.. from the later models. I never replaced the battery, and even after 6 years of use, It still lasts over two and a half days for me. Though, I am thinking of upgrading to a Galaxy Watch4 Classic, since its just a modernised version of the Gear S3. Absoluteley love this watch though!

    Battery can easily be replaced. You can buy new back covers and they include fresh seals that you can peel off that adhere once you screw it back on. Another thing you haven't mentioned is that none of the newer Samsung watches include MST Samsung Pay. You can call it a dying technology, but there are still several terminals that don't accept NFC payments that MST thrives in.

      I can't believe they didn't make Samsung pay where you can turn it off I'm really surprised anyone wants this proprietary payment service I was excited about and found it to be a major failure as you can't count on it because few vendors accept it therefore it's a hackable thing that doesn't serve enough of a purpose because you must carry a backup payment method makes the Samsung pay purposeless as there is no Advantage but are some shortcomings

    I preordered this watch when it was first announced, 7 years later it still works flawlessly.
    I won't upgrade because newer watches don't have MST.

    I got this watch off Ebay...LTE version for $89. I also have the Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Watch 4. I got this watch for the LTE and the MST. Found out the carriers no longer support this watch with LTE service. So I use it as my daily driver when out shopping, getting gas etc. The Samsung pay works every time. Also the seller had replaced the battery in this watch so I have no charging or short battery usage. I get 2 days + on one charge, I have constant health monitoring turned off, AOD turned off, wrist flip to wake up turned off and other features turned off as well , this may account for the battery durability.

    Been using it daily since 2017 and can surely say that it is one of my best buys ever. As your video states, performance and battery life are an issue, but the in my opinion the design is the best so far comparing it to the new models.

    I got mine in 2016, replaced the battery in 2022. I have had zero software updates and my bat life has not been affected at all. I think the software updates increased the demand on the cpu

    Mine just started giving up 7 years in, bought it in 2017, sadly the back panel just came off.
    Loved this watch, battery life for me has been wonderful even after all this time, getting up to 2 days with constant HR monitor, gps, and auto WiFi.
    Finally time to upgrade to GW5

    The micro-scratches just mak it look cooler.
    Oh, btw. I've taken mine to the pool and even the water park and have had it submerged in a couple feet of water for hours and hours at a time and have never had an issue.
    It seems to be truly waterproof.

    I loved this watch... But after three years the damn thing died on me even though I treated it very well...
    The MST function was absolutely amazing, every store worked, funny how cashiers say "we don't do apple pay here" and then in a flabbergasted face they see it process on the payment reader lol... Gas was safe and very convenient too.
    I tried replacing the battery in the hopes it was the issue, sadly it wasn't... I bought a Chinese cheapo watch during the covid outbreak and it made my life a living hell till now, especially with their app not working overheating my old phone and asking for permissions to my soul... Now I bought a refurbished galaxy watch 3 yesterday. Hopefully it last at least 2 years, the good thing is that MST isn't needed much these days due to stores having their own apps, and NFC support is usually available otherwise.
    But just like my Note 8 I adored it, and had it for three years as well. Time to move on I guess.... But this watch will always be my most cherished amazing watch I've ever had, just like my first car I sold a month ago tearfully regret losing...

    I've had mine for ages and have no regrets and no plans to replace it. The only issue I've had is the bezel got stuck about 2 years ago and I had to prise it off, clean it up 😬and fit it back on. Nail biting times, but it's been fines since. Battery life has suffered, though I'm also still getting 2 good days as per the video which is fine as I charge it every day.

    Guess it's reaching EOL.

    I loved this watch, but regret ever buying it when all the sensors failed after a software update. I did everything from resetting the watch and checking all forums for possible solutions to restore the sensors without success. The only possibility was to replace the motherboard as suggested on some forums, but wasn't eager to follow that route due to the cost involved. I recently purchased the galaxy watch5 pro and hope it doesn't die on me as with the Gear S3. The Gear S3 was a great watch nonetheless - well, when the sensors were working!

    I remade Chronograph+ On WatchFaceStudio and now I can move on to wear os. still not 100% happy with it tho.
    I love this this watch, got about a day on a 5+ year old battery. Just went to a "430mah" battery. As long as its atleast the stock 360mah, we gud.

    What's the name of the watchface? I've found it difficult to find many that are aesthetically pleasing but I quite like the look and amount of content on yours. Also, just as a fellow gear s3 owner, while I have not yet gotten around to attempting this I hear that some people over on XDA have ported versions of Wear OS to the S3 Frontier. Might be worth looking into, especially with tizen growing more and more outdated. Cheers!

      The watchface in the beginning of the video is called "MD135 B". I found it in the Galaxy Wearable app when looking for watch faces and is still my favorite to this day! Hope this helps!

    Still have this watch but after update i cant seem to find or apply some of my old watchfaces. I had a ben10, a power ranger communicator, snoopy and some others. Im now using a facer app uploaded with stranger things watchface. Its cool but all these smartwatches dont last long except if you turn off most features.

    So I'm late to the game and bought this watch the other day. (115 pounds) I love it but now have read that Tizel ? I think are no longer sporting it. Should i send it back and just go for an s6 or does it really matter? Want to be able to swim and chart my gym progress mainly as well d having a nice looking watch? Not sure what i should do?

    Mine finally died after almost 5 years. Debating to buy a refurb since replacement parts will add up almost to the same price. that or get the watch 4 classic, idk.

    • @techdevicenews
      @techdevicenews  Год назад +1

      I'd probably just get a watch 4 classic if it's not too much more. It'll get you a few more years of use most likely compared to refurbishing a 5 year old gear s3.

    So how many hours does your watch last? On a charge? And what settings u use to wake the screen?

    • @techdevicenews
      @techdevicenews  2 года назад +2

      It lasts about 36-48 hours of moderate use (depending on my GPS usage from runs). As for the settings, I keep wifi on auto, bluetooth on, location on, raise to wake on, my sound settings on vibrate, and my screen brightness at level 6. I don't use the always on display as that drains the battery quicker and I don't need to use it often.

  • @ottotater2787
    @ottotater2787 Год назад

    I paid almost retail for mine and I repeatedly will try to use it but it just doesn't do anything real it doesn't do anything useful I can't glance at it and see the time and date I have to touch it but if I accidentally touch it then it wants to change the watch face so I'm always essentially untouching it to fix the fact that I just touched it but it's just a watch that tells the time and date as I said it just does not do well at that if you think people are impressed by the watch that you're wearing then this will probably please you because it's a fancy looking watch but there's no point in making phone calls with your wrist and there's no point in the tiny little version of the picture that you can squeeze onto a watch face size screen. It's a fancy looking toy it's a really nice really fancy looking toy but as a useful functional tool that does something your phone doesn't already do for you like give you the ability to glance and see what the time is, it really fails at that I really really miss my pebble because I could look at it and tell me time and date I could pause RUclips and music with it where is the Galaxy watch only plays it's proprietary thing once again listening to music through a watch it's even lower quality than listening to music through a phone but your headphones already talked to your phone so again what is this watch giving you other than the thought that you're impressing people that see it? I've had none since it was new and since it was new I've been daring people to tell me a use that it has that I don't already have with my phone I daring people to tell me something that the watch achieves other than making you look like you want to be Dick Tracy talking to your wrist for phone calls which nobody watching you thinks is cool at all by the way I've Been Told a couple of times by complete strangers. All the people that say it's good talk about changing watch faces and how it goes with clothes again a toy not a tool it's a very expensive pointless fashion statement which means it's only for shallow people not for people that have actual needs in their life want to live a better life or have tools it help them because this doesn't do any of that just mind fashion for people that think people care what your watch face looks like which I guarantee you no one that you're not showing your watch face to will ever care what your watch face looks like except for another person that spent too much money for pointless fashion statement that claims to be a tool but isn't reasonably able to achieve its face purpose
