I started giggling uncontrollably halfway through the book-gathering process when I remembered what workstation you need to craft acid as a scientist. XD The acid-hunt is one reason why I like starting as a scavenger -- they have the perk that lets you find acid from taking apart cars & med cabinets. Glad you got the chem station up and running eventually though!
RNG God was not kind to you, but I loved the long episode. I laughed when I saw the junk turrets in the rearview mirror as you left the desert. I look forward to the bomb base I've watched your build tutorials and can't wait to see what you come up with.

The scout ALWAYS has aloe leaves for sale, just saying :) It is also probably easier just to buy the Chem station, most of the traders seem to offer it on a fairly regular basis.

Do you know how upgrading and repairing in the workbench works; in Darkness Falls? You take two items, say crossbow put one in A and the other in B, and take the result and that both repairs and upgrades your items.
Doesn't the front room in aldos cabinets have a bunch of sinks in it, or were they just the cabinets? I can't remember. There was one across the street from where you did the hotel that got you one acid.
I think you can scrap batteries for acid in DF
