I honestly have never cried but its caused some deep emotions and feelings of loss that have deeply scarred me. My mum gave birth to me and just walked out of the maternity ward and the hospital and left me there, never knew my dad, my mum was found dead by drug overdose, my temporary family gave me up and said they didnt want me anymore and then i ended up on the streets from the age of 11, and upon stumbling across this video, i was reminded of a time where i felt like those lyrics but could just never vocalise my feelings. Im now 25 and have never had a family that gave a thought to looking after me, loving me, caring for me etc. Everything i am now is what i have taught myself to be. I give a portion of my wages to charities, i go shopping and spend my money on cooking food to feed people without a home or income, i volunteer at soup kitchens, foodbanks and community outreach programmes, and everytime ive heard this song ive just stopped and just unintentionally referred to my childhood or lack of childhood. Brilliant song, brilliant purpose. For those who have family, embrace them, love them, forgive them. Some arent so fortunate
