Hey G! Just thinking about you yesterday!! Always amazed at that and glad to hear you are all good. Even with my trifocals, a 3X optivisor and no espresso for a week, I just don't have that dexterity anymore...well maybe. 😋 Just because You Can, Well Done G!! Hat Tip and a nod! And I could tell by your technique you've packed a few bearings in your day...LOL. Don't remember seeing or using anything that small in my travels...impressive and I'd like to see the mfg processes also. I couldn't make out what these came out of other than some kind of fan...Video card fan?? If it was, it's definitely worth fixing at the price of Cards now thanks to the bit miners. I've been pinching naughahyde for several months for a decent one for my new main box...almost the cost of a box at this point! Happy, Safe Holidays to you and your family, G!
Must be the universe speaking PJ. Yes, it's the fan on my video card. It's an ATI FirePro V5900 I purchased years back for cad. I believe I paid about $550 for it then. I looked on eBay and used ones can be had for about 40 bucks...lol. The fans are always the weak link. You might look into the secondary market for something that fits your needs. Good to hear from you and you do the same. Take care, G.
Good to hear from you George! Yeah, I'm still kicking. I even have footage from over the year that I've not "felt" like editing and uploading. Nothing too exciting, just stuff I had going on. Perhaps someday I'll finish them. Take care, G.
Very interesting video G. You have the patience of a saint, though I get when you have no other choice then you gotta do what you gotta do. I've seen some small ball bearings back in the days when I played with R/C cars, they use some really small ones though 2mm x 5mm might be smaller than I've ever used. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks Larry. I should've been more clear in the video. These two came apart while still in the fan. I used the bearings out of the old fan to get my machine going again, but don't know their state other than they're working as I type. The ones in the video are my backup set if something goes wrong while waiting for my replacements. I didn't need to do it I guess, but wanted to see if I could. I could...lol. What I didn't show was all the cussing that happened between clips...lol. I've dipped my toe in R/C over the years but that water is ice cold and costs way too much...lol. Good to hear from you, G.
6:26 - I was wondering about the manufacturing process as well, how on earth could it be economical to make them. my guess would be that the bearing must just be agitated with a vibrating machine or something to jiggle them in place. Maybe they're made into a small ring with a grease or wax that can be melted away or removed chemically so the race can fit on quickly and nicely. That's the only two things I can even think of.
I really didn't put any thought into it since they're a backup set till I get new ones. I don't have any specific oil for bearings, but I guess I could've used 3-in1 as it would've been more appropriate since they do turn a high RPM's. That's what I use for sleeved case fan bearings to extend the life of the fans. Take care, G.
Pretty awesome, although to be honest I think I might've attempted to sonically clean it and then drench it in WD40, possibly a drop of Marvel Mystery Oil or other thin oil like that. I'm not exactly all thumbs but one false slip I'd be saying things that'd make a sailor blush lol. Awesome video though, as always.
I would've done that Jesse, but these two came apart on their own while installed. I had a spare set from my old fan that I used, and these are backups until I get new ones. Take care, G.
I just did Jeremy...lol. I have other footage that I've not edited yet on various things. What are you looking for? If I have something on that subject, I'll try to post something. G.
Incredibly tiny. I would love to see the factory that makes them.
Agreed! G.

Thanks Rodney! Hope you and yours are doing well. G.
Which video card??
Amd FirePro V5900.
@@ghostses too expansive for this bearing recovery.
@@omsingharjit Not sure what that even means. I answered your question directly. Please elaborate.

Your guess is as good as mine Jesse. You could have a production facility in a small shed. Tiny machines making tiny things...lol. G.
Bearings are very small. Reaching out to you, begonis seeds are orange dust. That is a small bearing that most cant do. Nows the time to do that.
Yes, extremely small! Take care, G.
Long time no see lol
True, I'm still kicking. Take care, G.
How did you determine it needed grease and not oil? Those teeny fans can go at pretty high RPM's.

would you also like to talk something about the carburetor diagnosis or replacement, Maybe we could collaborate?
I just shoot videos on stuff I have going on. Take care, G.
i dropped one of the balls on the floor.. its gone forever :(
Try a magnet on a stick, but Yup- it's gone forever....
When are you going to make a video

@@jeremynguyen2346 Not sure. G.
