I can't tell you how much I appreciate the effort to mute out "Hey Goog" from your video. Thank you, I wish others would follow in your example. Also thank you for the video. I have been wanting to set this up for a while, there weren't any good vids to follow.
thank you, i have been watching the hook up and sometimes it's too technical. I'm glad he suggested your channel in one of his videos. Your videos are just what i need.
First thanks for another awesome video, pls can you suggest what could be wrong. I get to the point on the app where I click allow access. Then a few seconds later I get an error " could not update setting check your connection" However my internet is find and my google speakers are working fine and I have the cloud etc. Any suggestions, thanks

I'd like to have an option for using google assistant the other way around. Ex. I have a device that is compatible ONLY with GA and Alexa, and I'd like to be able to send a command to google assistant to open or close this device without having to talk to it. Or for example, trigger the Good Morning routine from a script that starts with something else, from HA. Tks for your videos, really easy for learning!!!
Hi Juan, first of all thanks for another great video. As always, a really simple to follow guide to getting things setup. We're having problems with our IKEA to Google connection (something a lot of users seem to have) so I'm thinking that the jump to Nabu Casa control might be the best option. A quick note though, you mentioned that but using a routine to activate a script you couldn't control the response from Google assistant. There's a Custom Response options for "Say something" so you could use that to plug in a better Google voice response.
Hi, before all thank you so much for your video! I've my eletrical system fully integrated with Google Home and i've control of my 67 lights. My question is: Can i put them in HA? I've tried to follow your guide but i don't know how to insert light entities in HA. I?ve already signed in HA Cloud and i've already integrated Hassio on Google Home app. The part that i don't undesrtand is how to control a single light. Example. I've a light called FARETTI STUDIO. Where can i control it in HA? Thank you so much in advance for your support! Regards, Alessandro
Good and understandable video. I hope you will come up with more Google assistant and HA videos. What about "hey google what is the temperature in the living room". It is possible to get a feedback on a temperature sensor in HA.
@@JaviepalFordring1did you find the IFTTT "Say a simple phrase"? I can only see "Custom Google Home response" which doesn't have the same options as the one in the tutorial
Good watch, but you had a couple times where it was worth mentioning that if certain things weren't present in home assistant (like the cloud settings) than they may have to add it to their configuration.yaml.
Are you referring to the cloud component in the configuration.yaml file? The cloud component is added automatically when HA is installed. But yes, I could've mentioned it for people to make sure it was already in the confirmation.yaml file.
Great Video! I followed the instructions, but in the Google Home App (iOS) i can only control the devices and scenes manually. There is no Voice controll possible. If I tell Google "Set Light XY to Blue" it responses with "Device is not available"... Any Ideas? I have already unlinked / linked the hassio Service but it still nothing...
As far as I know, no. If you set up the yaml file correct. It should've been synced to Google Assistant and you should be able to control script and automations using the "Activate" and then the name for the script or automation. You can see how to do this on the video and also the article.
With this option of Home Assistant cloud is only to integrated Google, Alexa, etc. or can be use also to remote access, to my Home Assistant Dash, discarding the portforward, SLL, duckDNS configuration?
You can create an automation for it and then you would see a Webhook available for it in the HA cloud page. The automation would need to be created via the HA UI. Not via the text file.
I do not understand the home assistant configuration that you present First you include 3 entities. I would think this means ONLY include those 3 Then you exclude 3 input_booleans Ok, so what is included and excluded now. Why do you need to exclude something if you already included 3 items. It makes no sense at all. And you continue You include switch and light domains. That should mean you exclude all other domains. Then you exclude script and automation Why? Should they not already be excluded because you included specific domains. I cannot see any logic in this
I was showing the available options to use. You can either include or exclude. It all depends on your set up and amounts of entities that you want to push to Google Assistant.
This stuff is kind of neat, but until they can't get this stuff down to only needing 1 or 2 programs it's just not gonna work for me. Some of this "smart" home stuff is really still more dumb than it should be. It's ridiculous that you can't give Google home simple commands like "do this, wait 1 minute, then do this." They seem to be on the ground and shooting for the stars and totally bypassing the sky. I started to use JuanMtech apps subscription but when I found out it couldn't work on my phone, I dropped them all. But otherwise, your stuff is pretty cool.

Great work, Amazing video - Well done sir.
Great guide I hope to be able to follow, but when I try to add the Hass.io to the assistant - it is not there? Any help please?
Same here...
It's called home assistant cloud by nabu casa.
Does this only work one way? Is this only for exposing HA entities to GH, or can I see my GH routines in HA and use them?

Is the Home Assistant Cloud required for Google Assistant integration? Or can you expose it without it?
Very informative video, by the way.
wondering the same...
You can set it up without it but it would be a lot more steps to follow

Yes. However, the custom response would be said after it says the generic response.

That's a good question. Would have to check if with an automation, you can get a detailed response.
Is there a way to use a hassio entity to trigger a Google Assistant Routine or action? Thanks for all of your videos.
No. Google home would only trigger commands by voice.
the webhook panel in Google Assistant Cloud does not have any IFTTT Webhook, only says Webhook, what can i do?
Ok, i find the problem, you need to add IFTTT in integrations

How could we do this for when I say a command then post it to node red to run a flow? any idea?

How do I do this with port forwarding ? ( Without using nabucasa cloud)

Yes, with actions on google console.
