The batsmen can't hit sixes, the bowlers can't bowl yorkers and the captain either forgets, chooses to ignore or never receives pointers from the team analyst. E.g. Iftikhar was the sixth or seventh best choice for the super over, but was sent to open. Sometimes I feel these decisions are deliberately taken to make the team look bad because no person can be as dimwitted as Babar has been for the past couple of years. I mean he gave up captaincy and played a few games as a regular player and then decided he'd win the T20 world cup with the culprits of the ODI world cup.

You are so right! This basically was an amalgamation of everything that is wrong with our cricket. There is not one good thing that came out of this campaign. This has to be rock bottom strategically for Pakistan Cricket, optically I am sure we are capable of a lot worse.

The Thing you are talking about is Range Of Strokes. The reason I consider ABD as the father of modern batting is because he could play every shot you can think of. His T20I stats may not be great because he used to bat at 4-5 and also played high risk Cricket, but his influence on the game is similar to what Tarantino had on Cinema in 90s with Non Linear Storytelling getting mainstream with Pulp Fiction.

Regarding Pakistan-India game, I would argue that Pakistan lost the match they were 57 for 2. After . 12 over mark, ball got soft, started gripping onto the surface. Timing became hard. Just See Axar's bowling in 16th over. Best Time to bat was in the beginning. Check out Pant and Sky's Wickets. On most normal wickets, those are one bounce four. Even Hardik timed the ball pretty well only to be caught at boundary. Maybe Breeze from opposite direction played a part as well, same for Ifti, I guess. India were 90 for 3 after 11 Overs and after that, they just couldn't time the ball. Even Properly timed ball due to the outfield was at max at 2, not a 4.
Maybe what happened was after Ind-Ire and SL-SA Game, they decided to cut all the grass and Suck the moisture out, rolled the pitch Mutiple times to make it even. And the pitch got excessively drier, started gripping as well. Also, maybe Reverse Swing started as well in last 2-3 Overs. Imad's wicket to Arshdeep was a Reversing ball. So, it's not Imad and Ifti's fault. It was the responsibility of the set batsman to bat through on these kinds of pitches which Rizwan did vs Canada and SKY did vs USA. You need good 15 balls to access the pace of the wickets because from one length, the ball is climbing and from other it's keeping low.

While we agree with you in part, it’s not that the middle order had to bat at more than 6 an over at any stage. It was a run ball. No matter the conditions or the situation, run a ball chase with 8 wickets in hand should be job done day in day out? While you are right the ball does get soft but it would make for a stronger case if the ball had to be hit longer distances, this chase could have been managed without boundary hitting. India did crumble towards the back end of the innings but that’s a poor day at the office for them. We can’t use that as a performance metric can we?
Appreciate your comments nonetheless. These were great to read

Both Zaman Khan and Usama Mir should be included. Zaman Khan is hungry and fighter. Usama Mir has made great improvements in recent PSL.

Excellent pod cast, I don't think any of the above will happen as the board is corrupt. The best chairman in the last decade in my humble opinion was Ramiz Raja, I still get very annoyed at him as he is always a negative commentator but as a chairman his principles and vision started to move Pakistan in a good direction.
Unfortunately Pakistan cricket is linked with Pakistan politics and until this is resolved we are not going to move forward, it will always be one step forward 9 steps back. Prime example as you said is Wahab Riaz 2 bit bowler leaching off of Pakistan Cricket.

Appreciate you listening to us and giving us your feedback! Ramiz Raja was indeed the only cricket savvy PCB chief we have had in the longest time. We can always disagree with policies but atleast there was a vision we were working towards. You rightly pointed out the impact of national politics on cricket and all other sports in Pakistan.

@@FineLegsPodcastIn my opinion Ehsan Mani and Wasim Khan's strategy was more better than Ramiz's. Ramiz gave too much power to players due to which they just ignored all the fitness regime that was introduced by Mickey.

Sounds very rude but we need few men from punjab region in PCB. First they don't think. 2nd٫ historically they get impressed by goras. 3rd. Shoday bazi. For wrestling its great not for cricket at all.
You need men like Sarfaraz, Majid Khan, Miandad, Muhammad Brothers in 11 and in PCB.
In US we see african americans playing every major sport but at managerial level we see jews and goras running matters. Its not about racism its about genetics.

Not sure why you have taken that to mean anything other than that they have been in these situations before and they have won before, this wasn’t unknown territory for them.
