  • Always wanted to know how to use motion control to earn time in stop motion animation, making the computer control the boring movements in the background or for secondary elements.
    This is how I benefit of Arduino an Dragonframe to focus my atention in the puppets performance.

    Do not pay attention to people complaining about your accent. I'm guessing they are mostly (smarties) Spanish. English speakers won't mind if your accent is better or worse, as far as they can understand you. They are used to hear all kind of accents. Great video, btw.

      +Eduardo Campaña thanks for the support, I read every comment. I feel what is important to me is to comunicate the thing, sometimes the image talks themself. I am not english so I understand my accent is weird and my troubles talking makes people distract from the content. But I do this because I like it and hope the time teaches me a little bit. Thanks again!!

    that stepper motor did not sound healthy

    • @moracabanas
      @moracabanas 8 лет назад +4

      I guess that's because microstepping of arduino wasn't perfect coded wich is so hard. While this is intended for move forward, stop, shoot, and repeat the mpst important thing is precision not to be smooth like a 3D printer.

    • @slendgamer895
      @slendgamer895 8 лет назад +2

      Alberto Mora Yeah I see. Btw my own steppers didnt sound any better than yours xD

    • @halted_code
      @halted_code 7 лет назад +2

      usually its better to not actually program it, but to make a counter that goes through the proper states using flip flops, all the arduino should be programmed for then is to send a number of pulses to the counter, and the counter does all of the coil firing.

    • @moracabanas
      @moracabanas 7 лет назад +3

      On my little knowledge about steppers learned from 3d printing, if you use arduino with a stteper driver it is actually easy to get it to work with a simple library. The micro stteping is done by the driver chip and smoothes the movement as it generates a sinusoidal like current wave driving 1 step with each wavelength cycle. The quality of "smoothness" is managed by the drivers proficency to aproximate the current variation to a sinusoidal wave on each pulse and by the number of microstepps it allow, for example 1/16 1/32 or 1/128. That means if you can aproximate the sinusoidal variation of one supposed continuous current cycle for each pulse by subdivide the wave in a 1/128 discrete micropulses, the movement of stepper motor should be really smooth. Probably this motor has a simple driver which doesn't care about microstteping. So if the motor has a 1.8º step (almost all of nema 17 or nema 23) one step means the motor inaccurately moves 1.8º with drifting and backlash as the ideal current wave is not filtered by the simple motor driver. Please correct me.
