When is a book not a book?

- Tim has a great number of items in his collection which LOOK like books, but which turn out on closer examination to be subtly different, and in many cases not to be books at all.
This guy will always hold my attention. Charming and classy in my opinion.
So true
more like a living meme

cannavo69 Don't forget "Wow"
+cannavo69 You're so right man xD
Neither is it complete without "Nice Idea, that."
+Leafy Worshiper chin

"pack it up at the end, and put it back in the case. very simple."
*fumbles to put back in case and immediately gives up*
Schned maybe he was talking about the mechanic of the camera book
(Sorry if I got anything wrong, I not English :( )
Could be, I was just poking fun at my good ol' friend Tim.
Schned Yea XD
I'm just amazed he can do these videos without a single cut.
He couldve taken the time to do it but he prefers to get right on to the next item without wasting time
"But it's probably as you guessed "
A safe for alcohol
"A safe for money"
Oh
A safe for a gun (from musketeers)

This is one I found, quite close to the one mentioned, a bit pricey though! If you looked a littler harder you could probably find one cheaper! :D
oh yeah.... only $200..... of course......
Dylan Ryan oh god thank you tav
Ull never get it
2:00 look! it's an early audiobook!
Sure. I was surprised they come up with that at first.
4:33 Tim asking me to "Smile, please" actually made me smile
Same
We all smiled
Can you imagine having afternoon tea with Tim at his house? Best. Day. Out. Ever.
That would rather be best YEAR out ever, as it would take that long you see them all
A book that literally illuminates
burningknight7 Illuminati confirmed
burningknight7 It's a very enlightening read.
Hakasedess Now that was just BAD!

Gytax0 Oh God... With that profile pic. XD
You forgot the exclamation mark.
ChessTauren so what? Still funny
"Heh!" From the nile
2:00 was probably the most amazing thing i've seen today
FunOrange It made me realize I don't know how vinyl's masters are recorded. Time to google it.... Found it. Now I know how.
FunOrange You can tell people who grew up outside the age of vinyl are starting to populate the world.
FunOrange If you ever get a time machine, check out the 1980s, they're full of wonderful things like that. :-P
+FunOrange, I had one of those books. I wish I would have taken better care of it.
+Dan Reader Buddy, they've been there for a while, and they're most likely you, since RUclips's primary demographic are around that age now. Just because your mom or dad had a record player doesn't mean you grew up in the age of vinyl - CD's have been available since '82, and compact cassettes since '62. Records were outmoded a long, long time ago.
I guess you could call these...
*Novel-ties*
_YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH_
+Fatrick Stare Booo....
I'll be here all night
+Fatrick Stare looks like your frank satire
Fatrick Stare Nice one!
The only non cancer toy review channel
What about ashens?
Sir Pootis the III ashens is the anti cancer toy review channel, especially since his charity livestream XD
This is like the nice version of ashens, what's with British toy channels being good?
Sir Pootis the III the british appreciate their toys I guess?
Seems so
Ooooh, I want a lamp like that! :D
vocaloidmarshmalow upto USD 190.00, nope ..
rhn94 !!! Nope indeed...
rhn94 lmao. You could make one yourself with materials that cost like 1/10 of that.
you need some good ass battery's if you gonna replace that for your lamp.
+linglingjr No I couldn't.
2:01 Tim actually has a record and a needle inside a children's book that still works. This man has to be just magical to know!
I'm pretty sure he has a time machine 🤔
Tim, I simply MUST know the name of the butterfly prank!
That book with the manual record is incredible! I’ve never seen anything like it. Also, I’ve never seen an instructional flip book. It’s a clever idea.
2:27 Tim is out for the book with all the senses, if he gets his hands on all five of them he will become the most powerful being in the universe
3:43 get fuckin rekt
Wow, that manual record is kind of awesome... I love how you're so interested in these things, it's really nice. Thanks for sharing all your toys with us.
the world needs more people like this guy.
"when is a book , not a book ?"
me ; wHEN ITS AJAR !!
me ;
me ;
me ; I don't think I did this right
That lamp book looks so magical, that would be incredible to have.
HI VSAUCE, MICHAEL HERE... WHENS A BOOK? NOT... A BOOK?
I had too
Tony Time Don't you dare talk about such wankers in the presence of a man such as Tim, disgraceful...
Thank you Tim for all your captivating videos ❤
This video brought up a fond memory. When I was in primary, one series of books I read was Captain Underpants. Hilarious stories and in the middle, there was 2 pages where you hold onto each corner and flip it to make George and Harold do something funny.
Book camera?
Where you a spy back in the olden days?
Shhhhhhh don't say that. They will find and "neutralise" you
Your profile pic is terrifying
Brad2Penske This channel is beginning to terrify me
This is the best channel on youtube
+1
Absolutely, I can’t believe I’ve just discovered it.
"What a surprise," says Tim, sounding not the least bit surprised.
Still my number one channel that makes me fall asleep right quick. Just so relaxing
2:00 I heard "wait behind the door wait to find out, the book found out the book find out"lol but I love it
☺🤯
The book lamp would be so neat for camping, it packs up tiny but then makes a lot of light, and it looks like you can hang it up? Brilliant
Here: m.aliexpress.com/item/32355296348.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail
I really want the book lamp at the end. Wonderful video, Tim.
That lamp is very beautiful. I am actually in physical love with that book. I don't know what it is but it is just wonderful on my eyes.
5:02 how the heck is he looking at that my eyes would already be burning if i was him
Book stores should have a section dedicated to books like these :)
Yup totaly not wrong
I would love that lamp in my life!
when i was younger i had two "books" that when opened, were actually paper houses. one of them was a renaissance-style castle, and the other was a vintage looking house. you'd open them up 360º like the book light shown in the video, and you'd have quite a few rooms, and two floors. there was plenty of cute little secrets like a closet under the stairs, or being able to open and shut the castle gates.
The last book was amazing. I was like this when i was a kid. I always liked something extraordinary. Thank you very much for your videos
fun as always, I always mellow out when I watch these for some reason. thanks!
What was the bottom white book with black and red text on it? At the start of the video? Seemed interesting.
***** The book is called 'The Art of Looking Sideways' and is described by the publishers as 'A lifetime of reflection and observation by master designer Alan Fletcher.'
Grand Illusions Thank's. Had a quick look at it on amazon, seems interesting. Very big though.
ninjatuna181 Then delete it
Viraqua lol it's funny
I thought the title was simply there to be of some amusement to anyone that might be looking at the spine with a sort of cocked head. If you saw it on a bookshelf...
Tim is the only guy I know who'd be of genuine intent when he says "Smart idea!" when someone uses a big book as a doorstop
I saw a peculiar brand of liquor in the window of a shop once. They were vials stored inside a false book titled "Writers tears".
I've always thought of something similar: A library for only weird and interactive books
Mr. Tim you have an extraordinarily facinating personality.
Awwww snaps...
...now I won't rest till have that same lamp book!😝
Lol
That lamp would make a great prop for skits and movies... I'll have to remember that.
I love the soft light the book lamp gives off 😍
Who else smiled like a fool when he said “smile please”
Weird girl..😌
Just kidding, I smiled too
5:00 for anyone wondering the spine of the book is a living hinge. It's made from one piece of a soft-ish material, like wood, and cuts are made in it
4:33
*Click*. Yep this one's going in my heh compilation
Anyone know the mechanism for the butterfly in the first book?
Found it, it's called "Surprising Butterfly", "Magic Butterfly", or "magicflyer".
You are a beautifully wonderfully made HUMAN ! ! !
I feel Tim would love what they were selling at a local craft market last month. They turned the pages of books into hedgehogs and business card holders, all sorts.
*HEAVEN'S DOOR!*
I want one of those surprise butterflies. I could pick on a teacher with it.
It’s like Tim’s time travelled to us from the the Victorian era!
2:00
That just blew my mind. I know what vinyls are, we have some of them. But I had no idea they could be played without electricity. Holy hell.
Where can I buy such a thing?? That you know, isn't for little kids. Like imagine having a portable, non-electric "Bohemian Rapsody"-book or something. Fantastic party-trick!
You have a truly wondrous collection of strange books, Tim! And, well, strange anything!
I love those flip books. There is a series of flip books depicting classic movie scenes like The Empire State Building scene from "King Kong", Skipping through the Poppy field scene from "The Wizard of OZ" , or the crop duster scene from "North by Northwest"
I've recently come upon your channel and I adore it. You are a genius.
I discovered smelling books as a young age and people would say "awww that's so cute!".
But once you grow facial hair, they're all "who are you? Get out of my house!"
Was I the only one that smiled when Tim said "Smile!"
That last book was a bit of - wait for it - LIGHT READING.
okay, I'm sorry.
The book lamp is what I want!
@2:00 the 4 animals instantly reminded me of "Town Musicians of Bremen" (German: Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten), a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm.
The book lamp!is awesome. I love it.
The book lamp looks like the book from chamber of secrets.
This channel is sooo addictive .
I love that he doesn't even bother explaining the butterfly in the Dictionary
I thought that last one was gonna be one of those prank books that catches on fire when you open it.
I was having a bad day but this just maked me grin :) thanks
4:32 **clicks the camera** then says "smile please"...... ohh Tim :D
That lamp-book is a really BRIGHT idea :D
I was at this yard sale that was in front of a home for deaf elders and I found this peculiar little book that had a golf course on every page, it came with a little ball bearing and a club amd you would hit it into the hole and do ot for all 18 pages, I jever found the little book but it was my all time favorite
the book lamp is fantastic for little kids making there blanket tents
it's amazing what kind of novelty books we used to have before touch screen tablets and microchips.
a book like that little record player would just have an electronic soundbyte in it now.
Love that Lamp book.
Ah, the age of books was a beautiful one.
i love how he says "big surprise" with a straight face xDDD
I'd join the books not-to-be-read club
and then I'd open up with
"This book is made to order, but it isn't to be read"
I had one of those piano books growing up. It's one of the first thing that got me interested in music and now 16 years later that's what I'm studying in college along with Creative Writing. In other words, I'm gonna be broke as hell coming out of college XD
The big white book, I’ve read before. My grandpa has it, so when we visit him every Saturday, I read a little bit of it.
The lamp-book is a really good idea and its looks very good :)
Did anyone else smile when he said "smile please"?
That lamp is awesome
I think we can all agree that the book camera is the most extraordinary toy in the video
Years ago, we made tabletop Xmas trees out of Reader's Digest issues (altered books). And it made me sad to think a tree had been ground to pulp just to become a tree again...
That book lamp is amazing! They're apparently making a "mini" version that'll include a charging port for your phone but I wish they'd put that feature in the large version, too.
This would be a good tv show
Tim is just a refreshing delight! Thank you! Where might someone acquire that book lamp?
I love how innocent this is. So refreshing.
This era of grand illusions intro is the best one
Shark Tank lamp book!
Loser
anyone here because it is 3 am and you can not sleep
yep...asmr videos are good for that too. try whispersredASMR
M3rcury's Laboratory
hypnosis videos is just as good, works better for me
Azean Oblad Actually, 1:35 am.
Tim is the sweetest man
I know im not the only one who always stumbles across this channel when im stoned.
I had completely forgotten about the altered books.
