Thanks for posting, I'm enjoying watching your video's and like the look of the Ranger. You've some fantastic scenery over there. Having arthritis in my knees, a regular bike is beyond me now, I've been thinking of converting an old MTB to an e-MTB with a mid drive, but seeing what your Ranger is capable of, I'm seriously thinking of a fat tyre bike now. I just wish they cost a bit less. Also over here in the UK that bike would be restricted to 250w and 15.5mph, no throttle (UK law) Although they can be de-restricted if registered like a small motorbike, they are still throttle restricted to 28mph.
Hi Rick, thanks for watching the videos! I'm hoping to reach a large group of like minded people, ones who see E-biking as a way to get out into the wilderness and possibly a way to extend the years of fun you can have on a bicycle. It's funny just how many nice people have contacted me from the UK! It seems that Cyrusher is selling quite a number of bikes over there! I watch a lot of videos from the UK and understand the strict rules about 250w and 15mph limit.... very over regulated in my opinion. It's too bad because you could make the argument that a bike like the Ranger falls short when made to comply with such rules. You could buy a much lighter bike with a smaller motor, much less expensive, with fat tires, and probably do just as well on it due to these restrictions. I do love the fat tire bikes, they are particularly good in sand and mud, both of which you have in abundance there!
Another good video thanks. Were you going down a decline to reach 44mph? Thats moving! Wondering if you have any puncture protection for your tires? Slime, Flat Out, or tire liners? Every time I see videos like this I think of getting a flat miles from home on some desolate mountain trail... Not a fun thought! Really liking your Ranger.
Hey thanks, it's great to get out and do a video once a week! The spot where I got up to 44mph has a slight down hill into it but then it's very flat for about a 1/4 of a mile. Actually, one of the only spots up here that is flat! I did that clip just to show the gearing on the bike, it is well thought out and you don't spin out at a low speed like some of the other ebike reviews show. My top speed on the bike so far has been on the hill where I did the video "torture test".... I have gotten up to 58mph coming down that hill! I have a video called "200 mile review" where I show and talk about what I did to help prevent flats. I also have learned from talking to others that the easiest way to deal with flats on these fat tire bikes is to leave the wheel on the bike and just pop off one side of the tire bead with your tire iron, then pull the tube out and inspect / repair as necessary. Then just push it all back in, pop the tire back on and inflate. I do carry a small pack with tools and a c02 inflator. Thanks for watching!
Yes the gearing looks perfect on that bike. Most other fat tire bikes have like 44t chain rings with a 7 speed 14-32 cassette.. almost impossible to achieve the claimed top speed of 28mph without spinning your legs off. Ranger has it right. 52t, chain ring, 9 speed with 11t for highest gear. 👍 Looking forward to your next video.
I love your videos, but they would be so much better with image stabilization from any old Go Pro. Looks like the bike does very well on some technical singletrack! Exactly the kind of footage I've been wanting to see on this bike!
Hey, thanks for watching! I had a Go Pro hero 7 with image stabilization that died on me right after the warranty expired (funny how that happens), so now I use my old Go Pro hero 4.... no stabilization or horizon leveling. Kinda sucks, but it's better than my phone! I'd like to get recommendations from people of what camera to get next, I'm not big on the "fish eye" look of the 360 cameras, so I don't want that. Lots of brands / models being used these days, what do you guys like?

@@lifebehindbarz60 I'm having a good experience with the GoPro Hero 8 that I've been running for years.
